yet my Japanese made ps2 thats all of 3 years old and gets used on a regular basis hasn't had a single faulty bit.

My PS2 stopped playing DVD movies a couple weeks ago. Plays DVD games though without issue oddly enough.

In the meantime I can just use my Xbox. Oh, wait, two weeks after I picked up my Xbox the optical out stopped working. No more surround sound for me!

Gord, do you know if all the Xboxes are still being made at the one factory in Mexico, or has MS had someboody else producing them as well?

She said that Motorola's StarTac line of phones were of good quality (which stands true to me, since my mom is still using my old Star Tac in Canada, which is about 5 years old now). BUT she said that the new models are not of good quality and there are frequent complaints.

Anyone out there have a non-Startac Motorola phone for a verification?

My old phone here was a Motorola v.67 and it was great. I bought it used from a vendor and had SK Telecom's prepaid service on it. I couldn't sell it before I left this spring so I gave it to a friend of mine. Sadly, she left right before I got back and couldn't get it mailed off to me. It worked like a champ, survived several drops, had a nice display (monochrom with multicolored backlighting and a cool Mashimaro animated pic), English and Korean modes and did everything I needed a phone for.

If I'd known I'd be back here this quickly I never would've given it away. Damn. Sad
