Just to keep things moving in a more productive note:

What does inspire you to write?

I have two and a half good ideas for a book and (ironically) I am working on the "half" to flesh out into a book. It is not literary and is more academic (a book about how to write expository essays--a study guide for my students I teach writing to), and the other two ideas (more literary) I am too chicken to go into any depth because realizing that the ideas sucketh may be too much for my writing ego to handle. I have about 150 pages of the "half" book done and I will be finishing it up in September and October (hopefully). I have given myself the time and the resources then to do so in a nearly undisturbed state of minimal work and Zen completeness. So I was really talking about myself when I said be careful of what you wish for; you may get it. If I can't write then, I do need to pursue my day job more. The test looms.

I have squeezed off some articles but not a whole book. I think it is important to get off even a "half" book before going onto bigger and greater challenges...

The ideas come as in inspiration when ole Bohemian in me takes over (rarely but does) or when I write my dreams down onto paper into something like a dream journal. The country of Korea and my native Korean wife tell me that those dreams have symbolic meanings according to Korean Shamanism. They are very interesting, the discussions about the symbols. Very Jungian. THAT has been a great source of writing inspiration and I have yet to develop that into a cohesive idea for a book, however. Very very interesting nonetheless.

Remember what I said earlier about deadlines?

Having a partner waiting to draw what you write really helps too.
