About 2 hours to get there and sometimes the same to get back. A little less if by car. Shopping and then checking out. So yes it can be at the very least 4 to 6 hour trip including travel time.

I too have used their service and am happy. Very fast and can do some shopping while at work!
And yes, you need a membership card to shop at Costco stores in person (I think it's around 30,000). |

You DON'T need a Costco card to use ezshop, so that's a 35,000 savings right there. They also give the price in dollars. I'm waiting to see my credit card to compare the exchange rate.
I ordered for the 2nd time late last night (Wednesday) and the stuff will be here tomorrow (Friday). The first time I used the service, I requested that they call me the day before they delivered AND THEY DID!! Plus, the guy spoke GREAT English and asked where exactly I wanted the delivery...to the door or to the security office!
If you live near a Costco, of course going to the store is the best option, but if you have to drive for 2 hours, pay the highway toll both ways, pay for gas AND pay for the card...I'll take the markup and delivery fee every time! |

it does sound like it may be a saner option; everytime I go it runs me 20-30 thousand for transport to and from, not factoring in the time and headache. You'd also avoid those impulse items that somehow end up in the cart.
This might explain why people keep staring in my cart: checking out what I buy so as to list what might be bought if offered via a service like this.
EDIT: no alcohol through that site. Guess it must be illegal for them to offer it. |

Got a funny story about this. I was checking out at Costco and an older Korean woman came over and started picking through the items in my cart to see what I'd bought. I was feeling pretty stressed by this time, so I walked over to HER cart and started going through the things that SHE had bought!! She laughed...I laughed...situation diffused! Made MY day! |

To get a cab back from Costco is about 25,000 won for me. To get to Costco via bus/subway is around 2200.
Looks like I'll be paying the same amount as I would if I went in person. Except I don't have to deal with the hassle of packed aisles, finding bags/boxes for my groceries, or just traveling into Seoul to go to Costco. |

I was just thinking about this this morning.. cos we are heading to it this afternoon.. haha..
Yeah, I can understand it if you live that far - and if I lived so far I would buy online too. Sorry I wasn't aware that you didn't live in a city that didn't have a costco. |

I've got a question for you all:
Can I use my Korean Check Card as a credit card online? I'm wanting to place an order at this Costco site, but not sure whether they consider a check card as a credit card.
What did you guys use to purchase your goods?
Thanks. |

Yeah, do people in other countries hire someone to do their grocery shopping for them? I suppose old folks do, but the rest all fall in line, pack a lunch and make a day of it. "Yay! We're going to Costco!"
Resident Aliens returning from their monthly trek to Costco Yangjae Branch
But if those home-delivery services don't do booze & butcher's meats/fish, who's going to bother? Got to make special trips just for those? Fuggedaboudit.
Personally, I have someone to do boring chores like the Coscto Run, otherwise I only ever go there on Business-Customers-Only Tuesday Mornings. HA! A joke to be sure, rubbing shoulders with my fellow "businessmen" -- K-mommies with their toddlers for the most part. Who let THEM in?? At least there are far fewer shoppers then, nobody ramming their cart into my ankles. And not too many ajummas fighting for the free samples.
Try as I might, I never make it out of Costco without dropping 250,000 won and up. Same this time, and I didn't even get the big-ticket item I went there expressly to buy. A knife set and a Christmas table setting. |

Yes, you can use your check card like a credit card because it's a debit card. |
