I'm still in shock. At Australia's loss as well.
The dissappointment hasn't set in yet and I am still too hungover and bruised to get a grasp on reality yet. |

You should have won against France but I think the All Black mentality that a game isn't really won unless you go over the tryline which is ridiculous. I know you all laugh at Johnny Wilkinson and accuse England and their only skill is to kick at goal but they are still in the world cup an the All Blacks are not.
It was stirring stuff on Saturday but with 70% possesion with a glut of backs who can kick at goal you should have won with ease. I don't think having the ridiculously easy group they had helped them focus either on the task in hand, their attitude was all they had to do was turn up to win.
John Stewart, All Black manager who remarked in 1976 when losing to the springboks through the boot of Naas Botha 'rugby is a kicking game now is it? Lets all now go an surf'
Winning teams know how to win, if Germany win on penalties in their world cup campaigns matters not to them, if they play 4-5-1 against Brazil or the Argentinians matters not to them, if they kill the game with dull, negative football an play for penalties, they win either way - boring or exciting.
The All Blacks need to change their attitude, they are not a team of winners like the Germans are at football. Are the All Blacks the best rugby side in the world? They can't be can they?
Argentina's campaign this year have give the All Blacks a lesson in how to win a rugby game. And for a country who have been in the top flight of rugby for about 10 years thats a bit of a disgrace. |

I'm not a kiwi, but how can anyone hate the All Blacks?
They play great rugby, except last night. Despite them being my second team by a long way, I'd rather watch them than anyone else.
The game is a bit sick on the whole though, not a whole lot of positivity going around. |

My mistake, Stewart was referring to Springbok Gerald Bosch who scored
1 conversion, 2 penalties, 1 dropgoal to beat the All Blacks at Ellis Park, Jo'burg.
Naas Botha didn't make his Springbok debut till 1980. |

Oh I can understand it. To watch the AB destroy the likes of Portugal and Italy in the group games and to watch those Kiwi morons in the stands cheering away like it is entertainment was grating.
I don't know about you but it is akin to watching the sixth form chool bully beating up on the first year new kid with cerebal palsy.
So I was chuffed to bits to see the All Blacks go out, besides it adds an unpredictabliity factor the the event whereas most Kiwis were saying the final was going to be All Blacks vs s/o. |

You should all thank your lucky stars you aren't IN New Zealand right now.
They've wheeled out psychologists etc. on all the major TV networks and even on radio bloody New Zealand giving people advice about to how to deal with the loss. Cringe, cringe, cringe.
The only thing I like about rugby is the haka. Something about big fired up men slapping their huge tree trunk thighs... makes me think about what's underneath them short shorts.
But I find sports-based nationalism or really any form nationalism to be particularly be dull and boring. |

Ref faces backlash as 'pampered' ABs, not Henry, take the blame
Angry All Black fans have struck out hard on the internet, posting on a site dedicated to the "hatred" of referee Wayne Barnes.
A page on the social networking site Bebo is dedicated to criticism of Mr Barnes.
It claims Mr Barnes made a list of mistakes which includes sending Luke McAlister off, not penalising the French for being off-side and missing a forward pass.
The messages range from violent threats to the more light hearted: "We all make mistakes but... grrrr".
Many of the messages use explicit language and blame Mr Barnes for the All Blacks loss to France, while others call for calm. |
Looks like the netizens are not a Korean-only phenomena. Embarrassing. |

In South Africa, there is this unwritten rule: Always support the team playing against the Aussies, for they, the Aussies, are our number one nemesis. (See how many ads there are on SA TV showing our insecurity where we make fun of the way they speak - it is bountiful and pathetic, when most rugby fans in SA AKA Afrikaners cannot even pronounce the 'th' sound in all its forms in English correctly.)
I actually believed this rule, until I had the good fortune to meet Australians, and the misfortune to meet Kiwis (and yes, ceestgetdegrees, you were the first Kiwi I met that is actually a good, smart person that I respect, but prior to that...).
Anyhoo, this is why I hate sports, and 'world cups' in particular, it is all a pissing contest, can't we all just get along? |

An angry New Zealand public is pointing the finger at the "pampering" of the All Blacks as much as they are criticising the referee and Graham Henry's player rotation policy as the reason for the national team's shock exit from the World Cup.

| Had the ref made a mistake in an NFL game or other U.S. sport, he'd have to go into hiding for his life. |

No, we will just threaten the referee's life.
Death threats outrage refs chief
The International Rugby Board has defended referee Wayne Barnes after he received death threats in the wake of New Zealand's surprise World Cup exit.
