I grew up in the Bible Belt (USA). Believe me there are many, many Christians who cite the Old Testament whenever the subject of homosexuality comes up ... although they also conveniently ignore the parts of the OT that call for women who have sex during their menstral cycle to be stoned; or where Yahweh calls for children to be killed; etc., etc. |
I hope you're not insinuating what I think you're insinuating. Christians are by and large a bunch of hypocritical, hateful twats? Could it be? |
I'm not insinuating anything. It's a fact that many Bible thumpers in the South love to quote the OT when it fits their agenda, especially regarding homosexuality. But one rarely hears them address the passages where Yahweh is portrayed as a bloodthirsty, capricious, xenophobic deity. You can draw your own conclusion. |
I don't know what you're getting at. |

I like the OP's line of thinking. What else can it be applied to?
Have you read all of TIMECUBE?

CREATION IS CUBIC, but
you are educated singularity
stupid by academic bastards.
Greenwich 1 day time is evil.
Can you explain the 4 days
rather than the 1 day taught?
If not, you are truely stupid.
To ignore the 4 days, is evil. |

I went to a Christian university for a year and a half and studied the Bible indepth.
Yes, I still think Christians are weak-minded sheep. |

While I completely accept that Jesus as a pure representative/ perfect Son of God, I think that the Christian concept of God that evolved after he departed this planet is practically demented.
For the offense of merely thinking bad thoughts ("thought crimes") a supposedly compassionate "God" hurls offending souls into hellish conditions eternally - not for the purpose of rehabilitating them, but just to inflict painful punishments forever. Any intelligent person should recognize that this is a borderline pyschotic conception.
But any religion that can twist "Thou Shalt Not Kill" into "it's OK to kill harmless animals just to taste of their blood and flesh" can subvert the original pure meaning of anything.
There were plenty of early Christians who believed in vegetarianism and transmigration of the soul, but many of them were killed and/or tortured ... |

Thank you to those who responded.
I can grasp that maybe it seemed a wrong question, but I have read many anti christian posts (some who advocated death for them).
I was therefore doing a social experiment into how many actually knew what they were arguing about.
Those who answered have also explained. Thanks. |
