However when given this choice:
a) A man who finally murders his wife after years of cruelly abusing her.
b) A woman who murders her husband after years of suffering cruel physical
most normal people would find it much easier to sympathise with the murderer of example b). |
Hmmm...
I guess that explains why if a man slaps his wife in a fit of rage, he's a "wife beater," but if a wife slaps her husband in a fit of rage, she's "dramatic."
Or, maybe if a woman kills a man after years of being hit, she's a "heroine," but if a man hits his wife after she hits him he's an "abusive husband."
Oh, I know... Men are supposed to be able to take a slap from a woman. What happened to "equality of the sexes?" |

I've never slapped a man. If a man slapped me, I would consider it abusive and would likely leave him.
I doubt this scenario of slapping femmes is that common, either.
Do you regularly get slapped by your women, Pliggy? |

I'm from the South. I've had girls slap, kick, and throw things like you wouldn't believe. Have I hit them? Nope. Should I have hit them? You're goddamned right I should have.
But, I'm a gentleman. |

Slapping and kicking? Sounds like you should stop kidnapping your girls from the local psychiatric ward then. |

I had a date with my girlfriend the other night at one of those soup places where the soup cooks in front of you, all you have to do is stir it once and a while.
The soup comes while I'm on the phone taking care of some scheduling conflicts at my job. A few minutes pass and the soup starts to burn. I say to my girlfriend, "Are you going to stir the soup?" She says, "No." So I say with a smile, "I thought it was the woman's job to stir the soup at a Korean restaurant." (I don't know if that's officially true or anything, but damn, I was busy at the time.)
She says "Times are changing these days."
I said, "Well, they haven't changed THAT much."
She stirred the soup. I paid for the meal. Sounds like a good trade to me. I also do most of the cleaning and cooking, as she's inept at either one.
I'm not saying men are victims nowadays, but I think many women today come with the notion that men are here to serve women, and that suddenly they don't have to do a darn thing anymore. F*** that.
I don't know if it's a spun-out, warped version of feminism or what...but that attitude is not needed. And men ought not to take it. |

How about getting real for a moment? Equality does not have to mean perfect equivilance. A woman can hardly harm a man with a slap of any kind unless she used a weapon. But a man can kill a woman with his bare hands. It is therefore perfectly reasonable to be more vigilant about the latter. |
