I tried a Gecko's hamburger recently and it tasted pretty much the same as a Burger King Whopper, about the same size, too. The fries were good though, but really how hard is it to make good fries?

The thing that really got me was the cola: it tasted absolutely horrible. How is that possible? How hard is it to come up with a glass of decent tasting cola? I'd really appreciate if someone could explain this to me. Has anyone else had strange experiences with the cola there?

I had a burger at Three Alley Pub last weekend. The burger was great but the service at that place was horrible.

They wanted me to pay for my food before I ate, I refused. I usually like to see and eat my food before paying for it. What if I paid and they came out with a plate of dog diarrhea? I would have paid 13 000 for dog waste.

Anyway, after I refused to pay first they insisted on keeping my checking card until I was ready to pay, I refused this also. At this point I turned to my girlfriend and said, "Let's go to Gecko's." The waitress scurried off and asked the manager if it was ok go against, "Three Alley policy." Why would I trust some bar to be in command of my entire bank account? I found it quite insulting when they asked to hold on to the card.

When the food finally came and I began to eat I got a bit thursty, so I asked for a glass of water. The waitress told me I had to pay 3000w for the water, I refused this also. The waitress said to my girlfriend, in Korean, "Foreigners always pay for water, it's what they do in foreign countries." She finally came with a complimentary glass water but I didn't touch, I'm guessing it was tap water.

The burger was pretty good, but it's not worth 13 000w excluding a glass of water. I'll definitely be going to Gecko's in the future where the burgers are around 8000w (if I remember correctly) and the water is free.

Its in Itaewon, across from the starbucks and just down from BK.

the road swings uphill, there is the New Delhi up there also.

I think between store number 30 and New Delhi

He sells, fish and chips, burger (homemade beetroot apperantly), lamingtons, and some other stuff.

Food is good.. listening to him going on about how he is famous Ozzy singer is a bit harder to swallow.

As has already been pointed out, the craptacular plastic processed cheese slice loses the Wolfhound major points. I'll have mine without the "cheese", thanks.

And what's going on with the upside-down buns?

At least they have Kilkenny!

He insulted one of the quests I was with, by calling her korean and saying "I know how much Korean girls can eat" she was chinese, and he mocked me for not saying Foster's Beer with an accent. I ended up saying "I want the damn beer that starts with an F and has a kangaroo on it." The guy is a real jerk even if the food was good but a bit high priced and the portions were small if you're a big eater.

i really like wolfhound, although the quality has dipped a bit of late. however, i really think that shelling out twice the price at ruby tuesday's will get you the best burger in seoul, barnone. they're huge too! i end up eating half and packing up the rest, which says considering i'm 6'2,'' 210.

Hey thanks for the inof and directions. I went there on Sat for a burger and it was good, a little on the small side but went down well with a couple of VBs. As you say though, was easier to swallow that the rock stardom bit. Apparently he was the drummer in the Chior Boys, pretty much ancient history really, they did have one good song lol. thanks again.

I have to say that although Big Rock in Gangnam sucks @ss, their burgers are fairly decent - nice homemade patty.

I'd have to agree. Derek (of multiple-banning fame) took me there last week and it actually makes me want to go back to Itaewon.

I agree, 3 Alley's is a nice bar and has decent food but the staff have behaved in an exceedingly pretentious manner each and every time i have visited. Among their many offenses that i have suffered from them include having beer served to me in a broken glass and being denied a table when there were plenty available.

Surprisingly the Korean staff were always chill but the foreigners were always the ssholes.
