Drakoi: Oh wise all-knowing one, I bow to your superior knowledge of KKKorea, especially because banging a korean surely makes you an authority on the matter.(woo hoo!)

I see humor is wasted on y'all.

raper. I'd say living with a Corean family has more to do with it.

JT, dude, get over yerself and learn to freaking type. It's one thing to have an occasional typo but your post makes it seem like your keyboard isn't arranged correctly.

And resorting to comparing everything to the Nazi's is silly and weakens the argument when the comparison is used in the right place. Comparing George Bush's use of fear to promote nationalism and push for a police state to the rise of Hitler is appropriate.

Comparing asking someone to spell your name correctly to killing jews is not appropriate.

Hey, I come from LA where every tom, dick, and harry wants you to spell their name 'just so'

It's really not that big of a deal, I don't see why you're tring to make it thus.

Drakoi,

I know you are Asian American. Are you by any chance a Gyopo?

Not surprising. The economy is not so good, jobs are hard to find, and hogwans are a good way to get rich slowly. But I think I'd have to agree with desultude...I live in Daegu too and find people are pretty friendly and upbeat here. My supervisor always looks a bit miserable, but then again she is always that way in the morning. The director does have a bit of the unapproachable all-knowing attitude about him, but he's really into the Confucian thing and that's normal for him; crack open a bottle of soju with him and he's ok. The other teachers are pretty happy, the receptionists always smile, and I always try to be pleasant on monday morning. At least, after reading this thread, I will tomorrow. Laughing

Does it really matter? Seriously, this whole "Where are you from?" quiz that happens in every single international conversation pisses the everliving shit out of me. If I stand here and defend Korea in such a manner that even Homer pops his eyes wide open in shock, will I have made the switch from whitebread to aZn?
