Because the US has been increasing its production of biofuels, to reduce their dependency on fossil fuels, they are harming the world's food supply, increasing costs making it harder for the rest of the world to eat.

With regards to boifuel production, the UK has been far worse. In fact, the UK has to import corn from the US just to fulfill its government mandated biofuel production.
Secondly, I wouldn't show a US biofuel plant while making this I arguement. I would just show Ben Bernanke's mug; the Fed's weak dollar/high inflation strategy has been really distorting prices throughout the world. |
