I learnt to juggle on a field trip with a friend who was really good. He had balloons packed with seeds. These have the advantage of not going anywhere when you drop them.
Another good tip, if you are learning with balls, is to do it above your bed, standing next to it. When you drop them you dont have to bend so far to get them and they will just sit where they land.
I can only do three balls, but once did it with a cell phone, a wallet and a lighter. Having your cellphone in the mix makes you concentrate.
