This thread amuses me.

For what it's worth, I'm from the states and have never devoted more than a passing thought to the existence of Canada prior to a couple years ago when I made some Canadian friends. Those friends are great people, so I generally think of it positively, but whoever said the States don't really care about what Canada is doing are absolutely right.

You really wanna know how much each country cares what the other is doing? Ask these questions:

Canadians, who is the president of the United States right now? Who is running for president right now?

Americans, who is the prime minister of Canada right now. If they even have them, when is the next election?

Americans don't know because we don't care. We don't hate you. We just don't give a *beep*. Stop taking it so personally. We don't give a *beep* about anybody.

Americans who go around hanging US flags all over their rooms, patching them to their backbacks and luggage, etc. are called douchebag rednecks. It's not seen as patriotic it's seen as nationalistic and xenophobic. Anyone else from any other nation on Earth does it and it's "pride." Go figure.

Americans and Canadians need to acknowledge their similarities instead of differences. It's bad enough that Americans take most of the hate from Koreans, but we shouldn't have to take it from Canadians either. Everytime a bunch of Canadians get together it turns into bashing America time. Those same Canadians by themselves just 15 minutes prior were cool guys and gals. Do Americans sit around and talk about Canada/Canadians? NO! We have absolutely no reason to hate each other. We need to be united against the crapwons and anti western attitudes displayed by many members of the, sparkling ROK.

I don't know who you are hanging out with, but I'm guessing they are fresh off the boat, probably from an impoverished fishing hamlet out east. Don't worry, they hate people from Toronto, Alberta, and probably Vancouver too.
