speaking as someone who's trying to learn korean- can someone tell me what it means, rather than what it doesn't mean?

But literally translated it means dog baby, certainly NOT cute little puppy. I wouldn't use it because unlike corporal I am not brain dead. Wink

The closest translation would be "son of a b*tch"

Duh. Don't the two of you be such dog babies to each other.

Personally, and this is my last post on this, I use either. It's not that I don't think using a spoon or mixing it up is a good idea. I just want the freedom and social acceptance from the onlookers. And I get frustrated when I know I don't have enough Corean to express what I mean to them.

But that's why I'm taking lessons!

Logistically, if there's a lot of other food on the table that is just easier to pick up with stix I use them in my bibimbap too rather than keep switching back and forth. If it's just the bibimbap then I usually use a spoon throughout.

My take on tj is that he's a Korean insecure in his ability to speak English (and quite rightfully so), therefore he tells all non-Koreans that they shouldn't teach others Korean because their skills are not good enough. Rolling Eyes

And actually, Bulsajo, I thought the mods would do more pruning of my posts than anyone else's, so that throws your theory of me running to them to back ME up, out the window.

But if the posts all stay, that would be good too. Free speech triumphs again!

I really want to know where you find fault in my English. Please, other than the spelling error I really don't see any problems. Everyone makes spelling errors so I don't see how you came to the conclusion that I was an insecure Korean man. Considering I am neither Korean nor a man. I think you are an insecure person who only can feel better about yourself when putting others down or making stupid comments on this board. Or trying to look intelligent by swearing in korean. I am sure other people agree with me.

The reason I said not to teach Korean is because you were using "palmal" which is a low form of speaking used only by friends to eachother and by or to children. You must at least include "yo" when speaking Korean to be considered polite. If you think I am wrong that is fine. I don't care because I will never have the experience of being embarassed with you trying to speak your rude Korean in public. You may argue all you want but nothing that you say is worth listening to.

Actually, it's panmal (niyeun, not riyeul). Looks to me like I'm not the only one whose Korean needs some work. Laughing

That is all you have to say???

Again another useless comment!

I never said that i was fluent in korean only that I knew how to be polite. you on the other hand find something like as small as spelling errors and think that you are superior. Grow up!!

So then your statement was either an admission that you said some things you now regret, or it was taking a swipe at what you perceive to be heavy-handed and discriminatory moderation. Thanks for clarifying.
