Have either of you two ever BEEN to Thailand?
Good luck with that monogamy thing. Laughing

For those of us who haven't (me), what does this mean exactly? Spare no details, please. Cool

Thailand is an interesting place. In this place you can fulfill every fantasy you have ever had. Anything from ladyboys to a 4-some is fair game. The ladies of the night are everywhere. Massages often come with an optional happy ending. If you are average looking, finding a girlfriend is simple. Even the bargirls provide what many call the GFE (girlfriend experience). If you can't get laid in Thailand, you are a sad excuse for a man!!

I agree with this about 200 percent. And since you can have whatever you want, no questions asked, I think it's really difficult to stay faithful in Thailand. It's where the saying "What Happens Here, Stays Here," originated.

I basically understand what you mean, and it's true Thailand has sex available pretty much on tap, but will just add that it gets very old very quickly (at least for me) if you actually live in Bangkok. I've been living here for awhile now, and I just find the bar girls and go-go clubs dirty and annoying and have zero interest in any of them, not even for free (which actually isn't very hard to pull if you go to the right after-hours dance clubs). I don't mean to generalize too much (some of them may be nice people) nor do I look down on guys wanting to do it, I just personally find those girls to be a complete turn-off, mainly because there's no challenge to it whatsoever and it's just not satisfying at all.

The wealthier Chinese-Thai girls driving around Ekkamai in their Mercedes would be the opposite extreme (dating for status) but are not particularly easy to get with, nor really worth it imo (too spoiled). A few of my friends (who can speak Thai pretty well) have nice 'regular' Thai girlfriends, and they're not bad, but I tend mostly just hang out with Japanese (quite a few living in BKK). I'm sure they exist, but I haven't really met many Thai girls that I would want to expend any serious effort on.

I was in Thailand for 13 years non-stop and it took me over 6 years to find the right one for me. I went through the usual and well documented mistakes most men make when they are first thrown into the Bangkok circus but even then I somehow (accidentally) managed to always go with a half-way decent girl, just never the right one. If you want to make a lot of experience in a short time (no pun intended), Bangkok is the right place for it!

The problem with the GFE is that you may come to believe that the person you're with is real GF material (with the prospect of more in mind). So many guys lost a lot of money that way or at least got burned.

Compared to Seoul I find the difference to be illustrated very well by my daily coffee experience. Here in Korea when I sit outside drinking coffee and I find a girl looking/staring intensely into my direction, she is actually checking herself out in the reflection of the window behind me. In Bangkok it is actually me the girl would be looking at.

I agree that the bar scene gets old over time but that is the moment where you should make the move to a real relationship with a "normal" girls. You will find that over time, the bar scene will recover some of its magic Wink
