You don't need a baseball bat. Imagine you have a suitcase. How many times have you seen a suitcase on a bus? Ok then...it's now your shield and weapon.
?
Am I seriously the only person in this forum that thinks this way?

...and do you think they're going to have an easier time with a guy who is 6'5'' 250lbs or 5'7'' 160lbs? :Rolling Eyes:

Suitcases are usually in the cargo hold under the bus or strapped on top in my experience.

Yes you are Rambo.

What do you do? Throw the suit case at him? Then what? What if he comes after you?

I'm sure that in that moment, you don't really think about all kinds of metaphorical what-ifs.

Look, to think that this even happens in this world is terrible to think, but for me it's equally as bad to think that in those moments, there is nobody that will do anything about it.

Shall we leave it at that?

EDIT: And this is coming from a quasi-pacifist who isn't from Texas who never played football, did steroids, or put any significant amounts of time getting jacked at the gym.

So how exactly would you have personally handeled the situation? I want details.

Cause i ran that scenerio through my head, and save a gun or a bat, it would have been very difficult to intervene.

Yeah, I'm not a 6'8'' linebacker who looks like he worked out on Long Island his whole life, but I'm not small either. I'm a normal sized guy who would try to help a guy if he were being murdered, and you're giving me shit? Give me a break...

Not giving you shit, just responding to your posts - as you do on internet forums. Don't get upset because most of us actually have a more realistic view of the incident than you do.
You hold on to your hero fantasies, I prefer to deal with reality.

So give us exact details of how you would have handeled that situation.

You know of the Kitty Genovese story, no? I remember talking about the morality of that in a class during my Fresh or Soph year of college...thinking how disgusted I felt about everyone that just stood by and did nothing while some woman got raped and murdered in what was basically the middle of the street. I think the same applies here.

This was not a bar fight or a women getting slapped around the face by a Korean boyfriend.

This was your honest to goodness, homicidal maniac with a f*cking hunting knife, that he had already plunged into the victims chest at least once. Would make most people think twice.

I like to think I've been in some tricky situations, but that definitely would have the worst by far. Some of us would like to think we would take the killer on, but if my wife or children were on that bus, then no-sorry mate, you're on your own. I would get my family off the bus first.

By the time that was finished, the victim would be dead. Be practical, you can't save a dead man with stab wounds to the chest, while wrestling with the maniac. Better to contain him and avoid other injuries or deaths imo.

I'd link you, but I'll summarize better.

NYC, 1960s. Woman walking home at 3AM at night, gets attacked by some guy. After stabbing her a few times, she screams out...eventually some guy in one of the buildings sees this and yells at the guy to leave her alone. The attacker goes away to his car, but the girl is left there. The guy comes back 10 minutes later, finds her in a hallway of an apartment complex, rapes her and kills her.

Of all the apartment buildings surrounding the area, not one person did a thing. Instead, neighbors called up each other and talked amongst themselves to decide whether or not they would do anything.
