Now I know that down in the US, fraternities and sororities are the "be all and end all" of being in University, but it just wasn't the case where I'm from.
I went to University in Halifax, NS, and to be honest if you were Greek there, you were actually considered a quote on quote "loser".
It wasn't a status symbol, or a means of social connection as I'm led to believe it is down in the US. I was quite proud to not be Greek.
I'm not sure how it is in the rest of Canada. It could very well be different, but where I'm from, it wasn't anything to brag about. |
