I like the "Adrienne" spot about taking home secret documents because I can't understand what anyone is saying.

"Have you seen Adreinne lately?"
"yeah, she ghjg jgjg hfjfjdu the barracks"
"she's fgjfdgdvhf,gfhvd lately'
"maybe she's fdmgj ghg h"
"maybe
"I don't know, she'sjughf dgfgkf ghfgd"
"you thin we shoulygbybgjy"
"she sure has a lot of money"
"and the fancy gifts i hg,vdg gdg"

WHAT!

Don'y buy drugs because it finances terrorists. Oh so if your dealer is a RASTA or a Hippie and you know they have no terrorists ties it's OK to buy drugs! Asaaaaaa

Well,

Since most had drugs iimported into America are through the CIA -I think that advert is dead-on.

Lest we forget Iran/Contra, etc...

Cheers,

Joe Thanks

I absolutely love the "Moped Safety" commercial. I like the way they check to see if he has everything he needs. I don't know why but I laugh everytime I see it (I don't see it all that often). It's ridiculous but hey, anything that amuses me I consider gold.

Cheers

Thats my all time favorite as well, my wife and I crack up at the cheesy sound effects every time. I dunno why its so funny but it works for me.
Sometimes when I'm riding to the store I make donkdonk and boiing noises as I'm getting ready. Might be time to change chanel.

Yeah, the moped one is my favorite too. I feel sorry for those poor military guys. They can't even ride a darn moped without having like 30 things with them.

It's so funny that this thread is on today. We had a big Canadian Thanksgiving dinner last night and making fun of AFN commercials was a good hour of entertainment.

One of the girls is dating a G.I. Apparently when watching AFN with a GI, one should not make fun of these commercials. Moped safety and potential espionage are serious matters darn it!

This seems to be a national pastime in Canada: get together and bash Americans. I witnessed this at a Canadian "thanksgiving" in Taiwan as well.

What a sad Thanksgiving celebration.

Cheers,

Joe

Not bashing American's silly. Bashing AFN commercials! Even civilian Americans do that! Canadian Thanksgiving rocked my world. Who wouldn't want to gather together to eat frozen lasagna and mashed potatoes?

That's my favorite.

some of my favorite afn moments... not necessarily in this order:

1) it's payday, man. gotta get waisted.

2) your buddy can help you...

3) ... that was stupid. who's the loser now?

4) that coat looks so warm. you're so mysterious!

5) look for the signs: "sometimes i just want to kill myself."

6) AFN korean talk tips: "do you serve american food here?"

7) that's really hard to swallow.

Cool sit near the aisle when riding in a bus (so as to let the civilian sitting next to you by the window be killed in the inevitable terrorist attack.)

9) that bad ass giant f--kin marine dude, decked out in camo, who is stabbing a dummy with his bayonette. someone back me up on this one... it was only a small clip from a larger advertisement. i couldn't have been the only one who has it branded into his memory for life.

okay... i said these were in no particular order, but i must say that number ten is my absolute favorite...

10) and what do you think, smiling gina?

and i don't know how anyone can talk trash about general schwartz, not after witnessing the blandness of his replacement. general schwartz made me feel like i was actually in his huddle, and i'm not even in the military. i miss the guy.

How about the power of attorney one where the guy gambles away his friend's vcr, cds, radio and finally the telephone on which he was talking to him.
