I'd prefer that. I think it depends on the relationship and of course, the couple, but considering how we are, it fits. There's no surprises with me and the boyfriend and he's told me for sometime he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. We were friends first so the relationship isn't from a movie romance ^^. Just thinking about that makes me smile cause I don't want it to be. (I'll try to keep the cheeseball comments short .. ehehe).

Maybe it's because we're not right out of college and I don't want to be surprised with an extraordinary cost that I'll end-up not wearing. It makes more sense to put that money into our home. That's if it's a traditional style engagement ring - I don't oppose bands.

Honestly, I didn't get it before either - I thought only uninteresting people did this kind of thing, or perhaps neurotic brides-to-be, I'd like to think I'm neither one ... I think it just depends on the couple and their situation.
