I remember one guy telling me that his Jindo ran away a dozen or so times but always found her way back home. She'd be gone anywhere from a day to several days at a time. I've read of this same thing happening numerous times with other Jindos. Seems peculiar.
I don't know how I'd feel about that. Wouldn't want to get attached then wonder if I'd ever see him/her again every time they'd run away.
Back in May I seriously considered getting a dog as I haven't had one since I was a kid. After tons of research on different breeds and visiting shelters, I concluded that there wasn't a specific breed that I wanted but rather specific "personalities" I didn't want. Anyone here in the States who has visited dog shelters can tell you that nearly half of the dogs up for adoption are pitbulls... no exaggeration. It's row after row of pitbull/pitbull-mixes. Thing is you really feel each one giving off a different and distinct personality and vibe.
I originally wanted a smaller or even a 'toy' dog but I kinda dig the personalities of Pits and Rottweilers. Alas, I can't get one here and now, considering I'll be leaving the country soon but I really look forward having a dog again. |
