conrad2 your elementry level rationalizing and conclusions are plausible but not exceptionally interesting. If I were ever to get married I am sure it is something I will have discussed with my partner before the "proposal", and he will therefore be aware of the importance that I place on recieving an engagment ring that I like. Key word "like". That doesn't mean it has to cost $5000 and it doesn't mean it would necessarily cost $100.
If your reading comprehension skills were better you would understand that my point was that it is the symbolism of the ring that is important to me and not the cost. Money is just money and you can't put a price on any of that stuff. Call me greedy and shallow if you want, but I could also call you cheap ... and stupid. Which I will. |
You sure are adding things that you didnt say in that post. Symbolism? Ha. You said " I would never, ever accept a proposal without a ring" and "I am worth a hell of a lot more than 5,000 dollars"
So I want to know how much you think you are worth, since its over 5 grand. Me? Stupid? I think " Im worth more than 5000 dollars" is a pretty stupid comment. Still waiting for your photo to see how expensive a ring you truly deserve. |

| Coming from a thrifty girl, I'd honestly rather put that 5,000 towards a house and wear a CZ ring. I can have the bling to show off and have a nice home to go home to as well. The majority of the population can't tell anyways. |

Its subjects like this that makes marriage so overrated.
I'd rather be single than spend my money on a gamble.
That's exactly what a marriage is- a gamble. |
