Let me name someone you might have heard of:
Helen of Troy. The epitome of "male-dominated" society. Men work for nice things so they can attract women. Is that really power in the male perspective? Women have always had the upper hand in the relationship game, where the male has too woo and impress the woman.
You hardly ever see women jumping through hoops for a man (i.e. K-girl carrying a K-guy's jacket/tennis equipment/guitar while he talks on the phone)
Furthermore, the thing that really perturbs me is that a lot of women want to be equal earners and go by the phrase" What's mine is mine and what's yours is mine."
This has been slowly changing, but for the most part women want the male to spend all his hard-earned cash on dinner/movies while the female gets to spend hers on Louis Vuitton bags and chanel shoes.
It isn't fair, men have been enslaved for centuries.
See what I did there?
p.s. Personally I am only romantically involved with women who want to play an equal part in the relationship. I am not cheap; it shows the man a female's equal contribution, commitment, and respect for the man in the relationship, otherwise the man just feels used and cheated in the long run.
p.p.s Gold diggers. |

Triban, your last post confused me.
If I ignore the part about Helen of Troy, it's a little easier to deal with, though. (Are you sure she was a good example for your argument?)
Is your "men have been enslaved for centuries" comment only applying to a theory that could sound something like, "men have always had to work really hard to obtain women"? If so - what about after they have the woman? It seems like you've spent more time covering a certain period of relationships in your posts, so I'm curious as to your thoughts as they apply to the married. |

Firstly, you say 'it's a turn off'... I'm wondering why it's important for you to be turned on in the workplace?
Secondly, and importantly, you need to realise EXACTLY like men, every single woman is different from the next. I'm sorry you are feeling overwhelmed by the particular group of women you are encountering, but I can assure you that there are just as many women who prefer to take a step back. Just as there are some 'power hungry' men and some more relaxed ones. Personally, I find power hungry men a turn off, but that's my opinion. |

| Woah, I just read some of these replies... Who are you people?? haha. Especially that guy who decided he doesn't like most women... hahaha. Sometimes I wonder how some people get through their daily lives. It just makes me shake my head. I had to check the dates to make sure I wasn't reading something from when the internet was first invented.... |

I didn't mean to suggest they were contradictory. I just thought it'd be an idea to highlight some very anti-women comments - very eloquent anti-women comments, too - that you previously made, given the song and dance you made about my comments here.
I suppose it's just rather fun. Let's hear no more of it, lest it distract us any further from our present topic.
I resolutely stand by my view that women are overrated. Men overrate them sexually. Men are oversexed morons who should be force-fed libido-supressants. In consequence, women either totally overrate themselves and become insufferably arrogant, or develop a needless inferiority complex - both groups being unpleasant company, and leaving only a small minority of women I'm genuinely happy to spend time with. |

Ha! Well, first I'll just say that each individual, woman or man, you meet, should "resolutely" remain an individual--even in Korea. You're born alone (at least the baby thinks so) and you die alone (unless you go for group suicides). My comments about a certain kind of woman could also be said about a certain kind of man. But, what's it all about then, eh? Is it about women or is it just about people?
And yes, you are getting to the nub of it. I've said it many times before, but humans, Homo sapiens, are just one species among many. Most being extinct. Naturally, it is only other humans that think we're particularly special. From an existential perspective, all our accomplishments don't amount to a hill of beans to everything else that happens or has happened in the universe. It is ultimately too insignificant. With that in mind, do what you feel compelled to do, but just don't hurt anyone.
As animals, as part of this thing called life, there are instinctual drives that compel people, women if you will, to behave according to certain drives. Call them evolutionary drives, but they result in choices. And these choices make sense if you care about the survival of the species, which most people don't. And for the record, neither do I. However, that is part of the Faustian bargain we make in becoming a human. Right down the line, from guppies to bowerbirds to humpback whales, it is the males that are born to impress, to chase, to flaunt and pose--and to face acceptance or rejection. Initially in a relationship or down the line. It's when you're reminded about your ancient ancestry that things become comprehensible. This is the way we are.
Incidentally, why would you think my comments are anti-woman rather than anti-a particular kind of woman? |

I've never had a good woman boss. EVER. Most of them are either as cold as a rock in Antarctica or riding the emotional rollercoaster 24/7. All of them are highly defensive and sensitive to anything that may threaten their authority, position, or status. They're unpredictable and can turn on you at a whim.
Male bosses can be pricks too but they're predictable and if you know their quirks it's not that bad. Men are way more rational and tend not to make things "personal" in the workplace. Men tend to be more straightforward and are more likely to address conflict head on, whereas female bosses will hit you from behind. |

Yes!! When I was a boss of a company I wold make it a point to tip toe up behind all my male employees and whack them upside the head when they least expected it. This helped me maintain discipline in a masculine world. |

As a professional woman in the world of management, allow me to enlighten you poor misguided souls to the methods utilized by me and my fellow administrating women.
I pee on everything. Everything. I pee on everyone's desk, in their coffee cups, and even in their drawers. This way there is no confusion as to who is the alpha person. I am in charge. My hormones make this clear. Everything is marked with my authority.
It's hard for a woman these days. Men just don't appreciate how difficult it is for a woman to accurately pee on office equipment. Outwardly it resembles Pilates and the physical demands are similar. |
