Argentina is impressive....great to watch.

Argentina have always been one of my favourite teams. Just magic to watch. I want to see them go all the way into the semi-finals. I'd love to see England win of course, but I'll gladly take Argentina as my second choice. I'd love to see them play Germany in the semifinals and kick some Deutsch arse!

As a football fan ok....but as an Englishman I couldn`t bring myself to support the Argencheaters or Krauts.... Razz .....hope to see the Dutch do well in these finals.

Goodbye, Korea. Thanks for coming out. Been a pleasure. Adios. Finito. Anyonghikaseyo.

Nigeria 3 Korea 0.

Right now MIGHTY Nigeria is in a 1-1 tie with Greece early in the second half.

Don't confuse your wishes with reality. Wink

Nigeria could indeed beat Korea in the final game....or it could be the other way around.

EDIT: Mighty Nigeria is now down 2-1 to Greece midway through the second half....

Looks now like a win by Nigeria over Korea, by any score, puts Korea out. That's if the score remains 2-1.

Well, unless Greece beats Argentina, Korea still keeps their fate in their hands. It will be interesting to see how next week pans out, as it will definitely be a pressure cooker in the Korean training grounds.

Well done by Argentina. I had my doubts, based off the Greece game, but it showed just how much better Argentina is. Their forwards and midfielders really took it to Korea.

Greece just beat Nigeria, which leads to some interesting scenarios, since Korea has a -1 difference and Greece will too. I guess Korea must win to advance, but what would happen if there were a three-way tie with Greece, Korea and Nigeria sitting on three points? What are the tie breakers?

That's the way espn.com carries it.

Korea hold 2nd place, even though they're tied in points with Greece, because they beat Greece. First, it's who beat who, then it's whose plus/minus is better.

I was wrong in my previous post saying that by Nigeria losing 2 to 1 to Greece that if Korea loses by any score that Korea are out. Korea is -1 in goals for/against while Nigeria is -2. If Greece lose to Argentina and Nigeria beat Korea, Korea, Nigeria and Greece will be tied. In that scenario, we can't go by who beat who because all three teams records amongst each other are 1 and 1. So you'd have to go by plus/minus.

Korea is -1
Greece is -1
Nigeria is -2

If Greece lose and Nigeria win, Greece is out because they'll be at best -3 while Nigeria will be at worst -1. If Nigeria beat Korea by only one goal, they'll both be -2. Then it might go by who has more goals. In that case, Korea would advance. So Korea could still advance if they lose by only one goal and Greece lose.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct Wad.

Basically Korea is a decent but not all that confortable spot.

Yeah, SK needs to prevent a lost by 2 goals or more against Nigeria and hope that Greece doesn't gain a point against Argentina.

My guess is that they'll be playing defence from the start of the game.

4-1 to Argentina like I predicted. That's the only one that I've got right so far! Talk about a reality check. The Argies brought their A-Game, but Korea put up a brave fight for a while. The gulf in class between the sides is huge and it showed last night.
Greece did Korea a massive favour by beating Nigeria last night, so the last game should be interesting.

How do you figure that? If Nigeria were to beat Korea by one goal, their goal differential would go up one to -1 and Korea's would go down to -2, right?

It looks like an easy way through for SK but if they play against Nigeria the same way they played against Argentina, I reckon they could still get knocked out. Even though Nigeria has nothing to gain from winning...Bit of a shambles, all 3 of these teams competing for second spot isn't it?

Korea after a shaky first half played better. Argentina was just too good.

It happens and kudos to Argentina.
