If you work at a public school, I think it's actually better not to give gifts to your principal. I used to give gifts to my principal everytime I came back from vacation, and he politely thanked me but also requested that I not give him anymore gifts since they might be misinterpreted as bribes or something during his next evaluation or review.

My co-workers really loved the blueberry ice-wine tea, maple tea, smoked salmon, and tim hortons coffee mix that I brought from Canada though.

I think my principal and vice principals were more impressed with the few Korean sentences that I made the effort to learn before coming to Korea. It made a good impression on them and they immediately opened up to me even though I basically just told them my name and said thank you in their language haha.
