Free education for those who can pass entrance exams would be right. If $20k a year, then I could apply 2.5 years of that pay to eliminate my student loan debt while I worked for money to live on.

What would a bunch of 18-23 year old drug addicts who dropped out of high school do with 20,000 grand a year? I'm willing to bet they wouldn't use it to get a GED.

A lot of them probably wouldn't know they have the money and it would spend eternity sitting in some bank account barely earning 1% interest per annum.

That money would get spent on booze and blow, and it still wouldn't be enough. 20k a year wouldn't be nearly enough to satisfy the debauched wannabe Hollywood lifestyle they'd all be aspiring to. What a joke. I can't believe anyone on here actually thinks this would be a good idea....

I think this would've been very effective as short-term stimulus. Surprise! Here's $20k for everyone!

It becomes more problematic when people become accustomed.
