Phooey! The brain has something called neuro plasticity. Older people can learn new things if they want to.

This is absolutely correct. Habits can be changed if one desires to change them. Age is irrelevent. Usually motivation and/or determination (or laziness) are the factors in someone using that proverb.

Ever tried teaching a 90 year old fogey to use a computer?

My granddad's getting good considering but that is only relaly saying he can type very slowly and put his hand on the mouse without making it click by mistake.

"A rice cake that looks good tastes good."

I don't actually know what I'm talking about here, but I'm going to guess anyway that you might be interpreting that wrong.

You can interpret it as a rule, i.e. 'IF (looks good), THEN (tastes good)'; but it might be better understood as a description, i.e. 'It looks good and it tastes good too', which would be something you say when something fulfills the expectations occasioned by its appearance - a job that both sounded good and actually is good perhaps?

I was watching a news clip and a gentlemen said something along those lines, the translation read "if it looks good, it probably tastes good" referencing the importance of physical appearance in Korea. It reminded me of this post so I thought I would mention it. Carry on, then.

You forgot to debunk that one.

Not only did I forget to debunk it, but I also said it wrong. It should be,"There are no atheists in foxholes".

Anyway, I am fairly certain that there have been many atheists in foxholes. Here is what one Freethinker said:

They say there are no atheists in foxholes. But as we sat in those holes, praying that God would save us, I thought about the fact that the other side was doing the same thing. And then I wondered if God is just playing some kind of game with us. Pretty much I decided at that point there was no God,

And another:

"It's a denial of our contributions," says Master Sgt. Kathleen Johnson, who founded the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers and who will be deployed to Iraq this fall. "A lot of people manage to serve without having to call on a higher power."

I know one example of an atheist in a foxhole. My brother. Well, it wasn't a foxhole, but it was in the Humvee, including up in the turret, doing security on convoy routes in Iraq. Probably a lot scarier than a foxhole. In foxholes, you're sort of hidden. Humvees are out in the open.
