Perhaps because people will assume you bought your wife and that she's only with you to get out of poverty? |

| If you know anything about Zackback it's that he likes his women to be his live-in slave and servant, so that wouldn't make any sense. |

most of them are. It's all relative.
from poverty to poor.
from poor to middle class.
from middle class to upper middle class.
from upper middle class to rich.
or jump several at one time.
There was a survey that came out stateside recently that indicated that divorce rates skyrocket when the man loses his job, but aren't affected much if the woman loses hers.
what does that suggest to you?
suggests to me that the vag is never free, you merely pay much more for it throughout one's lifetime while being "sanctified" by society rather than being villified by it when you rent it for a moment or two and come out financially ahead. |

why should the women of the Phillippines, Thailand, Cambodia, etc be denied the same "opportunities" given to wives of professional athletes.
or CEO's?
for them the dorky accountant from Omaha will do. |

btw.. talked a married woman in her 30's in Seoul several weeks ago. Has her own small business and I'm sure makes decent bank.
She got married 4 years ago. Has 4 friends, they all got married as well.
She was telling me how she finds herself "missing" her single life. She didn't elaborate as to what exactly she missed. She also said three out of the 4 felt the same way.. missed the single life. At least one of her friends earned a bunch of money.. 4 million won a month, maybe slightly more. She was the MOST miserable.
amazingly enough, the happiest one and the one who remains super happy in her married life is the poorest one, who also married the poorest guy.
not sure what this means if anything, but found it interesting. |

1st I don't think I've met a Korean woman who hasn't said this. They get married for the wedding -- and to please their parents. The marriage itself is a business arrangement. Cheating is ridiculously commonplace.
2nd, 4million won/month is a bunch of money? 50g's per year? Really? |

I know a Scottish enginer who works on Geoje for a German based sub contractor
His female (Korean) office manager who speaks several languages and lived in Germany for a few years makes 12 Mil a month. Damn fine money when Dr's start on something like 9 Mil here.
Where I am, I've had a western engineer offer for me to go out with his wife's friends, they're all pretty bored apparently. |

You guys are easily impressed. 'I know a guy who said his boss makes a lot of money a year.' Wow. The interesting thing is, if he's telling the truth, she's probably paying more in tax than newbies are making in total out here. |

my understanding (and you can feel free to correct me) is that 4-6 mil a month is considered pretty decent income here and not many people make over 6 mil a month.
for a woman (overwhelming percentage of women) , 4 mil a month would be considered a pretty good income. |

| Big Question? Gross Income or Net Income? I always think of money in Net Income, what actually goes in the pocket. |

Actually for ship yard engineers 12 Mil is at the low end for westerners, most make between 12-15 Mil a month, month on month off. Airfare paid anywhere in the world on your month off.
She was the office manager of a sub-contractor for Samsung Shipyards, her big advantage was that she spoke 5 languages. Regular Korean engineers get 9 Mil a month for Samsung.
No reason for him to lie, heaps of people making more money than her there. |

Ha, ha, people lie all the time about how much money they or other people make. About as often as they exaggerate about how many women they've scored with. Don't you know this? I'm not saying he is lying and I'm sure you're right that engineers make shed loads of money. My point was so what? I know a guy whose boss makes double 15million. Are you impressed? |

No, not in the slightest.... but I thought making 15 Mil a month for a Korean women was reasonably interesting. I take it you don't know many engineers if someone was full of shite when speaking in front of other engineers, they soon get the message.
Maybe that's why I enjoyed drinking with engineers, far less blowhards than amongst the teachers crowd too be fair |
