University jobs are very overrated. The glory days of uni gigs are long over. Smh@ people with masters and phd's that work in Korea on a lower salary than someone starting out at a hagwon with no experience.

Translation: I couldn't get a uni job so now its sour grapes time. And the quip about the great job now. So what? Some people have this my unit is bigger than your unit mentality. Most psychologists will tell you they are projecting and its actually a deep rooted sense of inadequacy. Probably needs Viagra. Seriously dude, so what? Some people want uni jobs. Just because you don't or can't don't sh*t on the gig. Sad thing about Daves is people stating their preference as if it should be for everyone else.

Ive never applied for a uni job. And my job is better than a uni gig so why would I want to work at a uni? I make more money than uni teachers as well. You seem very upset that Im successful and critical of uni gigs. Uni gigs arent the clear cut best jobs in Korea anymore. Ive alreadt explained why so go back and read my posts again I will not teach you reading comprehension for free. Guess youre one of the people that stayed in school for a masters or phd and ended up realizing youre working more than me and making less money. Dont get mad at me for having a great job. Laughing

I worked for an private HS, a famous business adults hagwon, an after-school, a kindie, and a couple of elementary hagwons.

The HS was the best, they just threw money at me, and I took it. But, honestly, the regular kids hagwons Ive been at have all been cool, and theyre not the horror stories I see posted here. Im also chill and can carry myself. I think that can help the situation alot.

I think its kinda stupid that so many people fight to get into the unis, its not always that great. Less time working to do what? I had one of those jobs once and I went nuts! Not everyone is the same. I think the money is about the same 99% of the time.

Yeah, my current is a kids hagwon, and the time and money are really great. I could do with an extra week of vaca, but you make do.

Whats with this thing of NETs now coming here, living in HBC, hanging out in Itaewon, working a Uni, is this the Korean NET experience now, some kind of NET hierarchy? I had a guy make fun of me that I didnt live in Seoul. Lame...

99% of those dudes cant say beyond like 10 Korean phrases. Are you really living abroad?!

just saying, kind of lame.

You might have an interesting point if you told us what kind of place you work at and what the pay and conditions are. Otherwise it's all a bit pointless isn't it.

I dont owe you anything. The best jobs in Korea are the ones not advertised. You need to learn the game since you didnt know that.

I agree that seems to be the scene here. Which is why Ive only been to HBC once and that was to get to Itaewon from the bus. 99% of the people in HBC are tools that speak no Korean, play beer pong in their dirty apartments that they brag about, and eat western food all day. Personally I dont see the point in moving to a foreign country and ignoring the culture completely and living like a Westerner learning 0 Korean and making 0 friends but thats their choice.

Nice. You talk a lot in general about what a great position you have, I point out that you could mention a few details about it and you make out I'm after your job (believe me, I'm not). Then, simply on the basis of me asking you to be more specific, you claim I'm ignorant about the job market.

I know it's an anonymous board but you could make a little bit more effort to act like a normal human being. I suppose you'll accuse me of stalking you next Rolling Eyes

Really? I dont have all of my posts here memorized. You on the other hand apparently do. Thats kind of creepy that youre memorizing all my posts. This place really needs an ignore function for the people here following me around the forums all day, the creepiness here isnt flattering.

When are you gonna start calling him "pet?" You seem especially proud of that word.

I'm still curious about what kind of vacation time you have. Clearly you like not working a lot, because you were pleased that you work fewer hours than university teachers.

It's funny the number of people on here who get all in a tizzy when someone happens to remember what they said in a previous post. It's like people would prefer what they write to be instantly forgettable for some reason.

You proved that there are some bad jobs out there, but you didn't prove that most uni teachers have a much better deal than the one you posted. Since you refuse to give any details than that you make more and have fewer hours than the job posted, I'll let you go, as you've probably got work today.
