Ahhh but remember, that hypocrisy charge is a double edged sword.

So, do you support the throwing of coins and whacking with umbrellas on say, people who drink in public? How about those walking around intoxicated?

Maybe we should have a vigilante squad that drives around and delivers beatdowns to people who teach illegal privates.

Since you support YOUR vigilantism and you are against hypocrisy and taking offenses on a case by case basis, surely you must agree with my proposal? Et tu Brute? Come on, don't be a hypocrite.

We're well ahead of you, chum. I think this thread is a wrap.

Steelrails for the fail.

You know, someone can be for the death penalty in one crime and against it for another, maybe that makes them a hypocrite, I don't know.

Likewise, I am for vigilante justice in the uber-extreme example of being caught red-handed raping or murdering a child. I am not for vigilante justice for someone running a stop sign.

Well, I guess that makes me a hypocrite. Have fun flinging coins and whacking umbrellas boys. Let me know when you form your first constabulary and what street corners you plan to deploy to. Mary's waiting.

We know you don't know. You make it painfully clear, at length, in post after post.

Not every Korean man who pees on the street, even within view of children, is necessarily a sex offender. There are just so many ways that this could go wrong. Even if guilty, you have set a precedent of taking the law into your own hands - and violently so. Where does it stop?

I almost learned my lesson on advocating vigilante justice in the abusive video thread. I was saying I hoped someone would track down and roll the f' out of those guys and CentralCali was saying that was stupid. In the end, the video was just a fictional movie cut. Laughing

CentralCali 1 - right on
EzE 0 - epic fail

Of course, I'm a slow learner. If someone molested my nephew, if I thought I knew who did it, that person would have a bad day. Or maybe I'm just another "internet tough guy." Laughing

All this talk of vigilante justice, legal systems, outrage and plants and birds and rocks and things made me wonder what ever might have become of this guy. Ecuador has no capital punishment & a maximum sentence of 20 years. So, he served his time and sort of seems to have dropped off the map...

“He may be guilty of a misdemeanor for illegally urinating on the roadside, but there is no incriminating evidence to prove he had other intentions,” court said.

Really? Previous convictions and this behaviour happening more than once? Come on; be classy Korea!!

Have you ever been falsely accused of a horrible crime? I have. Luckily, my commanding officer was kind of addicted to logic and figured out that it was impossible for me to have done the crime since at the time of the crime I was with him at our brigade headquarters in another city. But, of course, what do logic, the rule of law, and good sense have to do with blood lust.

Vigilantes, like Steelrails wants to be, are criminals. They are criminals just like they think their victims are. And, yes, it's happened too often that the vigilantes have targeted, and even killed, a person innocent of the crime the vigilantes accused their victims of committing.

But, hey, blood lust is so much more fun, right?

And steelrails? Post after post, he proves he's a troll.

I said it was only appropriate it the rape and/or murder of a child and them being caught in the act. I cited the Beslan terrorists as an example. These are cases where the facts are not in dispute and the crime is extremely fresh. Yeah, if you blow up a school as part of a terrorist act and kill 300 kids and teachers, the community has the green light.

Now I guess an idea like that makes me a troll. Rolling Eyes

I think I posted in this thread already about the dad who caught a guy molesting his kid - and killed the guy.

I absolutely haven no problems with that.

Maybe CentralCali is a little sensitive to this issue because something like this happened to him, eh?

I didn't see it. Was it the case in Texas where the farmer caught one of the migrant Mexican workers fiddling his kid and beat him to death? If I recall correctly, he didn't even get charged with anything.

Well the circumstances weren't very clear. I'm not sure what he was falsely accused of, but unless it was at the level of gravity of child murder or rape, then I don't think it really applies. I'm talking a very extreme, narrow example. If some guy walks into a school and shoots dead 30 kids, society should be able to tolerate a parent-led hanging or summary execution by the police.

Better than putting them on the cover of Rolling Stone and watching as they grow a cult of followers and get to publish their "manifesto".

The Norwegians should have done that with Brevik. How many people now does he get to influence with continued speech?

I dunno, if they surrender to the police and beg for mercy, I guess you have to take em in. But if they are unrepentant...

Not talking the adulteress or a three time loser of a thief or something like that.
