point proven. you have no idea what you are talking about. football antics and rave culture are completely different from each other. ravers don't throw beer bottle at each other. see ravers deal with flakey mentalities like plur (peace love unity respect). you know nothing about this culture and yet you totally think you do, it's pretty funny.

By golly that IS pretty funny!

LOL!!! PLUR!!!!! Thanks Princess, for takin' me back.

I also remember..."we're like techno-hippies."

I'd never heard it before and I almost disgraced myself laughing!

Why do you think the police (outnumbered 20 to 1 or more) should have limited their choice of arms?

As a matter of fact, YES. And for the same reason I don't think police should be using- for example- bayonnets when performing crowd control duties.

Try to remember that this was not an assault of a Hell angel's Clubhouse- it was a party/concert. Was the party getting a little out of hand? I don't know, I wasn't there. Should police be using assault weapons to break up even a rowdy concert? NO.

America was a free and well functioning society for millenia before the present occupants arrived.

FYI Rapier, Rousseau wasn't 'all that and a bag of chips'.

Why not? Since when do police need to offer a "fair fight" to outlaws and rogues? We're talking a two-digit number of police against upwards of two thousand ruffians.
As I mentioned before, I don't doubt they were taking the opportunity to give Utah's under-utilized special weapons and tactics teams some training and practice. Bust up a wild party, capture 60 assorted junkies and drug dealers, and train the police force to make the state safer. Looks like a win-win-win opportunity.

I'll take that as a slight against the noble American motoryclist. As the bumper sticker says, Being A Biker Is Not A Crime.

The sight of a biker gang taking to the road is a sign of springtime turning into summer, where I come from. The sight of two thousand zombified hippies rutting in the countryside after dark... curdles my blood just to think of it. (locks windows)

Yeah the Hell's Angels are really pushing their "we're not criminals" PR campaign here too. Pity the fools who actually believe it.

Well, at least you're honest in admitting your biases- you'll side with organized crime over youthful indiscretion. Good for you.

How many Hell's Angels do you know? Maybe in the 1960s they were bad-ass. Now they're mostly middle aged guys going through midlife crises. Do you know how much a swank Harley costs these days? Theives and rapscallions have been priced out of the biker gangs.

You've got to be kidding. Are you really that naive?

Let's remember we're talking about biker gangs here like Hell's angels, Bandidos, Mongols, Rock Machine, etc. we're NOT talking about all Harley riders. Here's an article about your average Harley rider:
http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/entertainment/112204621310691.xml&coll=2

Now, you've painted all ravers to be criminals in this thread, but somehow you've become a bit miffed that I've done the same with bikers.
I hope you can see the parallel.

Man that makes me laugh, why do you think they call it organised crime and not teachers union bike group.

O Laughing Laughing Laughing Sorry, I have to laugh.

Man, thats hilarious, forget just the Hells Angels, who still have money here. But damm, that is a funny comment. You know in my country, buy a $40,000 dollar harley and watch insurance companies line up to give you insurance Laughing Laughing Laughing

I'm sorry, I really don't understand that comment. You're saying that labor unions aren't organized crime? Is that relevant?

First point, was that Hells Angels are an organised gang, making a lot of money. They are not just some old people or any normal person who would be a member of a teachers union.

Secondly, Insurance companies won't insure motorbikes of too expensive a cost in my country as they are likely to be stolen. Thus Hells Angels or any other gang, don't need the money to buy 1.

Hells Angels as an organised Crime syndicate are still going strong around the world, they like many other gangs are just being less visible.
