I'm sorry, but this is one of those times I totally disagree. You seriously overreacted. Your behavior was inappropriate, period. Where you blew it, and you already acknowledged you had "lost it", was in tearing it up.

Do the crime, do the time. Yes, they're going to overreact. Expected. Unless you are going to do something a little above and beyond to make amends you can pretty much count on having a rough go.

This is what I figured, and why I was willing to apologize. I realized what I did was innapropriate and so why not apologize?
The whole thing has blown over and I've heard no more about it.
I also figured it was worth it because I like my boss and school and have had few problems. My boss does all the things that a foriegner would expect but often doesn't get, like pays on time, pays overtime, communicates about changes and generally supports me concerning discipline. She is also a kind person and has done some things above and beyond like letting my boyfriend use the school computers and getting him medicine when he was sick, and buying things for me and then later taking the money out of my pay. She also has given me an a/c, rice cooker and quilt and cooks dinner for the staff. So I figured if she wanted my support in kissing up to the deranged parent, I'd go along.
