I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY f-ing hate PhPP? error: Cannot connect to the database. Drives me absolutely nuts....
Can't explain why "birds" bothers me. "Chicks" is also a bit annoying. Don't know why. Anyway, I use "girl", "ajumma", and what have you. Then again, if you are Colin Farrell, say "birds" all you want (do they say that in Ireland?).

Damn, since I am sure I have used a few of the offending expressions, I will be more vigilant in my future compositions to avoid incurring the wrath of those upset by trite colloquialisms!

Someone was annoyed by people who say 'birds' for women. That's British English mate, sorry! We Brits should be less annoying with our careless use of language and say 'chicks' instead.

Well said, sir. Just my two cents. Who on Earth are these people that object to "birds", "K-babes" etc? I've never met any reasonable, discerning, sentient being who objects to that. My mum is rather liberal and PC and even she says 'birds' sometimes and certainly doesn't object to it. Some people are just miserable as f_ck sadly. That's why I'm going out with a smokin' hot K-babe whilst others sit at home having a knuckle shuffle.
Actually, in addition to loathing "just my two cents", I hate people who quote someone and say "well said" or "I agree" or - worst - "kudos". Ugh!
Daves is okay generally because it does avoid "GO GIRL!!!!!!!!", "GO YOU!!!!!", "OMG YOU ROCK!!!!!!" etc etc. Monstrously vile.
I'll tell you summat else that fooks me off...."I could care less". The phrase is "I couldn't care less". If you "could care less" then you care to some extent. If you "couldn't care less", you don't care. Think on, people. |

Why is it "necessary?" I realize that people should make an effort to appreciate the culture, and yes, maybe some others should "go home" if they constantly say such horrid things about Korea. But sometimes we just have run-ins with culture shock, so we come here to vent. I'm actually referring to the chronic "go home" types who come down on anyone who says one little negative thing ("I don't really like Kimchi") All of a sudden, you'll get a band of these posts chanting "Go Home! Go Home!" to a poster for not liking Kimchi....it's not helpful; it's just snobbery...might as well get out the clubbing sticks. |

I cringe when people use "gay" to mean "of low quality". As in, "your post is the gayest I've ever seen on this forum". Not just because of the homophobia, but also because, prior to getting into the internet, I hadn't heard that usage since about junior high school or so.
I also don't like it when people use "retarded" as an insult, especially when the context makes it clear that they're comparing someone to an actual mentally challenged person. For example, the old "special olympics" joke about internet debates.
Finally, I have a real aversion to "Darwin award" jokes. I dunno, something about them just screams "pseudo-intellectual" to me. |

I can agree with all of those and for basically the same reasons. One you've either overlooked or don't consider as dumb is I do is "gey". |

Yeah, that grates as well. But I just lump it in with the other deliberate spelling mistakes, "teh" for example, that have already been covered on this thread. |
