Okay, could someone direct me to the post where somebody dissed Chiaa? Is there one? I keep seeing all these defences, but I'm not seeing what's prompted them. |

A while ago there were a punch of posts where people were making complaints that by mentioning my store the board was no longer pure or some crap. They are here, just do a search. |

| Bah, if Chiaa didn't have a book store he'd be a bored ESL teacher like the rest of us. Besides, he speaks his mind openly, wich takes a lot of guts considering how some 'netizens' can be total crackpots. |

I wouldn't say it's a gay magazine, but rather a gay-friendly magazine. It was the men's magazine for a couple of years before Stuff and Maxim came out. Within the span of an issue or two sometime around 1995, I noticed that the editorial content had been changed (obviously, someone clued in that young gay men read the magazine, too). I totally lost interest once that really hot female sex columnist stopped writing for them.

| I was seriously tempted to buy the stack of magazines until I read the line about them being great bathroom reading material. I would need latex gloves and a surgeon's mask just to flip through them. |

Hello everyone,
I've got 2 used Lonely Planet guidebooks that I'd like to sell if anyone is interested.
1. LP Southeast Asia (12th Edition 2004) - 14,000 won - in good condition
2. LP Cambodia (5th Edition 2005) - 8,000 won - in perfect condition
PM me if anyone is interested!
(ps. I also have a used Madagascar dvd...give it away for 2,000 won - good quality)
|
Here's another one. Again I would leave the books or give them to ANY friend (one person left me their China one when they left China and I moved in). Atleast just go sell them to Chiaa. Also, couldn't you atleast give the Madagascar dvd to someone who bought the two books. Nope, they need the 2 bucks
(Please flame away again people, but that is cheap). |

I agree with the cheap cheap cheap thing. Hard to believe people wouldn't just leave them for the next people or give them to someone.
Last time here in 2003 I left a pile of stuff with the other foriegners in a smaller community.
Things I left included;
a tent (still in decent condition and I was buying a new one upon return home)
a dart board and darts (quality board)
a winter jacket I bought here
a bowling ball (to heavy to take back)
a toaster
a bicycle
I asked my mates if they would like any of the items and they said ya, how much? Free, what you think I am going to ask my buddies for a few won when while over the year we were good friends.
As it turned out my last few weeks here were full of great imes including dinners, lots of drinking followed by singing and all kinds of fun stuff. When I tried to pay for my share over those weeks they said no, its our treat.
What goes around comes around I say and it was proven correct.

Do the math...35-40 mags, 11,000-12,000 each...over 400,000 won...not a bad deal for 15 bucks...

The bit where he says he'll trash the mags if no one buys them is what I think makes him el cheapo. Just leave 'em. |

| Maybe I should clear this up...We aren't leaving the place, I was just doing a spring cleaning, and had a box full of mags that we didn't want left in the apartment...So, there is no one to leave them to, and contrary to what was originally stated in the original post, XXL, The Source and Vibe aren't the best mags to be left for school projects... |

| I think it should be noted that, on the other hand, there are some people who are so cheap that they take advantage of another's predicament in order to pay much less than fair value for things or to even get them for nothing. |
