I tutor immigrants in citizenship classes that have been waiting 6 yrs plus to become a legal memeber of America, and I see how loyal these would be citizens are. What makes me sick is that the other week when the immigration marches were going on, Mexicans were tearing down the American flag from front porches and setting them afire in the middle of the street. And they DEMAND rights as what?!?..........ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS?

Unless you are on the front lines and are here along the border to witness the plague that is spreading North, then all you talk about is what you read in the papers. And that my friends is my definition of "delusional ignorance!"

They take jobs than nobody want? These jobs have no problem being filled by white people in the North, so that argument is absolute sh%t!! Again, you read it so it must be true....right?

This topic came up in a free-speaking adult class. Seriously, these were the most common comments/questions:

1. Is not the United States a nation of immigrants?
2. Is it not diversity that makes the United States so powerful?
3. Cheap migrant labor makes it possible for Americans to develop more quickly.
4. Wasn't Texas and New Mexico part of Mexico?
5. Why don't Canadians come to America for jobs?
6. Why can Americans easily go to Mexico, but Mexicans cannot go to the United States?
7. What types of resources (agriculture, timber, etc...) does Mexico have?

At first, I thought this thread was a farce, it is so offensive. I can't believe you can spew such racist crap without being embarrassed by your own bigotry.
Yo!Chingo - you seem to be under the impression that illegals get so many free "services" that you are paying for. Study the statistics. Illegals are ineligible for public aid (like welfare), and constantly contribute to the economy pay paying sales tax, rent, buying consumer goods, etc. There are no free meals, or happy meals, for anyone.
And there was a project done in Southern California where all illegal fruit pickers were removed in one area - three months later 90% of the jobs were still unfilled. This industry would crumble in California without the manual labor, and Americans won't do it. They prefer to receive those governement services you are so worried about. Of course, manual labor is not important work like "teaching" English in Korea, but it does give us food, clothing, transportation, construction, which personally I appreciate more than another hagwon successfully turning a profit.
The idea that Mexicans (or illegals) are lazy and drunk is ridiculous and racist. Have you seen people who drink more and are lazier than (foreign) English teachers in Korea? My husband was one of those illegals (though not Mexican) doing construction work, and contractors were willing to hire him to do (for a good wage) because there were not enough American craftsmen to fill the demand and need. Since his skin is white, no one seemed to mind.
If Mexicans hate America, it's no wonder, considering the history of our actions and the current, obvious discrimination which continues.

Uh, if I may say," bulls#it!" I worked in N.C's health department for 5 years lady! I saw 90% of the people there and they were latinos. Most of them didn't pay taxes and they sure didn't speak English! Free ride Baby! That's what Americans are good for!

Blah, Blah, Blah...if you don't like us get the HELL out of our country. WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE ANYWAY!!! Either you love us or you hate us... You can't have it both ways. I think every immigrant illegal or otherwise should have to pass a polygraph test about his/her feelings about the US before even being allowed to enter myself! Again we don't need or want you!!!
