At least you boss is paying pension! (ours deducts the full amount from our paychecks). The other FTs and I have been complaining about this to her non-stop for three months. She keeps saying "it's not in your contract, so don't worry about it" followed by "Well, the other Hagwon owners don't pay it, and the pension office dosen't enforce the regulations anyways"

I'm going to call the pension office this week. I want to see this B***h get fried.

BTW, I know this is completly off topic, but if our boss isn't paying her portion of the pension, and instead deducting the full amount from our paychecks, does this jeopardise our chances of getting a refund?

What do you mean by "full amount"? Is the biatch deducting 9%? Then she has the balls to say "don't worry about it?" Why is she deducting it if she's not even paying it? She's pocketing the money? Holy old fuk! That's when the screaming starts. I'd be yelling in her ear and smashing everything.

No. Get her to pay her share to the pension office and bug her about it everytime you see her. Makes me wonder what else this hoare's doing.

Don't be scared. The only person that matter is you. Focus.

Believe me, I'm not scared. I'm not about to let this sorry excuse for a human being walk all over me and steal my money while she's at it. Yes, she's deducting a full 9%, but I'm not sure if she's pocketing the money or just giving the full amount to the pension office and then claiming that half of it's from her, hence my need to contact the office ASAP. Getting a paystub from her has been exceedingly difficult as well.

Talking to her is like talking to a recorded message...always promising some change, always promising to improve our working conditions and make things right, but no progress happens, and then it's "well, I must work out the problems first"
"what problems? If you let us know, maybe we can help you to fix them"
then the ubiquitious, not-so-slight topic change to the guilt trip: "but don't like hard work? Isn't duty important to you? Don't you care about the children?"

Do these people have any idea how much damage they're doing to their country?

I should have started written complaints to my Nazi boss. If your boss refuses, then retype your written complaint. Type that she refused to sign it in Korean as well as English. It's just a way to start a paper trail. In the event you sever a contract, if you so choose to, then she will be checkmated.

Logic in the face of hogwan absurdity. How charming...

You would be better off insisting on a daily rim job for all the good a paper trail will do you.

Pension office: 02-2240-1083/5

Call and give them your alien card number.

Tell your boss that you can't work for the hagwon anymore because you don't appreciate them stealing from you. "I don't trust you and you're treating me very badly." Tell her that you called the pension office and there was no money in the account (which is probably the case). Get the pension office to call your boss.

This is beyond ludicrous. She's making 300,000 more than she should be (or the school is, but she could be putting it in her own pocket) and you're losing the same (of course). Essentially, on a 2 million salary, they give you 1.8 where you should be making 2.1 (excluding other deductions, of course).

What are your taxes like? How much are they stealing from you there? How about medical? Are they stealiing money from you there too?

I think my boss was all excited about the pension at first because he saw it as a way to make an extra 100,000. They'll screw you if you let 'em. I had to remind him who he was dealing with. I've had other problems too like with taxes, but had the situation fixed. To this day, no matter what minor thing I do, I have weapons against my employer. I'm by no means at the losing end. I haven't lost any money. I probably made more money (clear) than I should have. It's not right though. He's not paying the tax office.

You really have to put your foot down. Bring in a megaphone and yell it to her face. The only way I've been able to solve some situations is by causing a disturbance, it seems.

Call the pension office and find out the details. Go into work and march into her office. Tell her you better get your cash back or you're not going to class. "You're cheating me". That'll get her angry and defensive and she'll come back with something insane, but what's that got to do with the price of eggs?

I think I'm going to write that into my next contract.
