Yes. Your view of him is how we treat people who doubt the holocaust. We either call them anti-semantic, wrong, lunatic, uncredible person, or better yet, lock them up in prison. If you read his book, he does not deny it happening, but he doubts the way it went down. The numbers, for one.
Where did our freedom of speech go?

Here is a little about Austin App

Harry Elmer Barnes was not the only American academic who attempted to exonerate Germany by denying the Holocaust. Austin J. App, a professor of English at the University of Scranton and LaSalle College, also played a central role in the development of Holocaust denial, especially in the United States. Though not as prominent as Barnes, he was far more virulent and began explicitly denying the Holocaust within a few years after the war. By the late 1950s he was not only writing to the Catholic Brooklyn Tablet offering "proof" that the figure of six million was "a bloated libel," but was appearing before varied audiences accusing Jews of perpetrating a massive hoax. Like Barnes, App was mainly concerned to lift the moral burden of the atrocities charge from the shoulders of a defeated and divided Germany. In contrast to Barnes, App had no independent standing in the academic world. An active member of various German American groups, App was an ardent defender of Germans and Nazi Germany. He served for several years as president of the five - thousand - member Federation of American Citizens of German Descent, founded in 1945. Though it never reached its membership goal of three million, it was |

He has freedom of speech, he is just a Nazi apologist and very biased source.
By the way what is your take on David Irving losing his libel suit over the holocaust? |

Based on what I have read, 1 million died in gas chambers and other killing devices. 2-3 more died of poverty and starvation, or other related causes.
I am still looking for more sources, because I am not fully convinced about anything yet.

I can tell you that you are only fooling your own self (and what delusion that is...), with comments of "looking for more info.' No matter what you find, you will not listen. That much I know. You are parading the pretence of being rational and "critical" when you haven't the faintest clue about all the thousands of scholars who've laboured years over archives to come up with those figures.....
But in any event, buy the book.....

I have nothing left to say to you. If you want to talk to me, read a book on manners first.
If you think I am stubborn and won't listen, you are doing the same thing to the opposing views of your belief.
But hey, you just need a bigger world. |

I see. Wake me up when you finally find the sources that fit your beliefs.
I imagine it'll be something by Irving or Zundel.
In the meantime please feel free to continue to tell everyone that the Jews are really milking Holocaust because it was only 1 million deliberately murdered. |

You took the words right out of my mouth.
I;d do the same thing in their situation, but at least I would admit it. |

Kudos for standing up and calling what walks and talks like a bigot as a BIGOT. He shouldn't hide behind his suppossed "doubt". I am sure he has never been to a camp or to a memorial or museum....I've been to 3 camps and two museums. I'd recommend the Simon Weisenthal in L.A. as a great rundown of not just history but also the bigotry from around the world.
If you do want to know more, soon the public will have access to the same records, researchers, historians and academics have been combing for years , to arrive at the "right" figure (if still conservative)

BAD AROLSEN, Germany, June 17 (UPI) -- The largest Holocaust archive will be opened to millions of people worldwide searching for family information, it was reported Saturday.
The Los Angeles Times obtained early, limited access to the Red Cross International Tracing Service archives in Bad Arolsen, Germany. The 50 million documents, kept since 1943, provide more depth into the mass extermination and incarceration of the 17.5 million people funneled through Nazi concentration camps, the newspaper said.
Despite pressure to the contrary from German and Italian governments, the archive will be opened this year so former detainees can file claims and families can trace branches brutally chopped off their family tree.
The data include the meticulous jottings of Nazi workers who took down everything from the property a prisoner turned in upon arrival to how many lice were found on their heads, the Times said.
Deidre Berger, director of the American Jewish Committee in Berlin, said the archive will expand the knowledge the world has of the mass murder of 9 million European Jews, Gypsys, homosexuals, people of color and political prisoners. |

And how many people TOTAL ( i.e. everybody ... not just one "special" group ) were casualties in WW2?
40-50 ... maybe 60 million? |

Are you really this dense? The Holocaust was not a grotesque event just because six million were killed, it was grotesque because it was a deliberate targeting of a specific group (attempted genecide). |

And I can see you took your degree in insults, since it's all you seem to do; hurl insults around.
If you show me real proof of 6 million, I'll believe it. But there is no definite concrete proof at this time. Just estimates.
If you saw the other thread about Nazis opening the files, I support that. I would like an accurate count. Why not discuss it more when that information has become public?

Wow, you've really swayed us there IGTG...posting pics of kiddies younger than 10 writing stuff with magic markers says more about you than it does them.
Maybe i'll post a picture of one of my 7yr old Korean kids shouting "Ilbon bad' and see if I can get the world to despise and demonise the entire nation of korea. let alone Arabs strapping their kids in grenades and teaching them that israelis must be killed like pigs.
Hate is an energy i'd rather do without thanks. |
I agree. Your comments re: "HATE" that is.
Of course bombing entire populations out of their homes serves as a rather vivid illustration.
Anyways, here's an update

Online Controversy Over Graffiti By Israeli Kids
By SHEERA CLAIRE FRENKEL
In the public relations battle brewing on-line, there is a new eye to the center of the storm surrounding the war with Hizbullah - a series of photos showing Israeli children writing messages on shells meant for targets in Lebanon.
Questions over the photos' authenticity have been put to rest by authorities that were present during the incident, which occurred on July 17 near the northern border. The mostly local children had been brought to see the shells by their parents. Although it remains unclear who encouraged them to write the messages, their colorful scribbles, including a Star of David, hearts, and "From Israel, with Love," have appeared in dozens of blogs, or on-line journals, and on-line photo hosting sites.
