Kermo,

Your story makes us Finns sound really cheap and weird. We aren't _that_ weird... but some of us are cheap, though. Embarassed Anyway, I don't believe that his main problem was his nationality. I think it all boils down to the fact that he was an engineer. "They" are a totally different breed from our species.

Anyhow, it was really nice to hear that you liked his remote controlled cars. They're big in Finland, you know. Especially among grown-up men. Razz NOT! By the way, did you meet this guy in Seoul? I know one Finnish engineer over there, but because he's sort of a ladies man he doesn't quite fit your description.

I do cherish a couple stereotypes about Finns, but cheap is not one of them. Maybe a bit weird. Embarassed From what I've gleaned, they're comfortable with silence, prone to depression, not overly religious and quite worldly-wise. And, of course, they hate the Swedes.

They were working in Yongin, not Seoul, by the way.

Well, this isn't a weird girl story, but it's a funny one nevertheless:

I met a girl through a friend and got her number. A few days later I called and we arranged to go see a play being put on nearby. Before the play even started it was clear it wasn't going to work out- we just had nothing to say to each other. I was practically counting down the minutes until the play started because it was just so awkward.
So after the play we're headed back to my place (might as well give it a shot, I figured) when she runs into one of her professors. After a few seconds she goes to introduce me and says "Oh, Prof. (whatever) this is... umm... uh... oh no... BRYAN! Right? Bryan?"
I had plenty of time to tell the guy my name while she was struggling to remember, but I was laughing too hard to say anything.

He was cool, but not a big hit with the ladies (we discovered that I had kissed more girls than he had.) One night, I found out why.

I've kissed 100's of women, one more would hardly rock my world.

Pm me if you want to prove me wrong, haha

If I did, would you let me write it up in this thread?

Kermo, I am one of your fans. This part intrigues me. Any details?

Who hasn't kissed a few girls?

I had a look at the bottle of wine. It was red. The label said "2006." It also said "Jinro." Shocked Sure enough, it had cost $2, and it tasted like sugary fake cherry juice mixed with gasoline.

Correction. I saw "Jinro House Wine" today at the Kwik-E Mart and it cost a grand total of 1,100 won.

A couple of times I've been taken to super-fancy korean-"italian" joints for co-workers leaving parties. The last time I was impressed to see the wine waiter walk over, and give a very professional pour.. until I saw that the crap coming out of his bottle was that unnaturally-colored Jinro crap. This was a pretty expensive lunch, and they were serving 1,100won a bottle 'wine' with it. Ugh.

Anyway I think it tastes like low grade grape juice mixed with a dash of soju.
