No big deal. Forget about it.

If you ever want to make Korean teenage girls feel underwhealmed do a Dolly Parton version of a song and show them a pic of her.

I couldn't help where my brain went when I read this whole thread but specifically this post. When I was in Korea the first time, I had to field some questions from my 12-14 year old girls (and sometimes the boys) regarding US movie and tv episodes. They wondered about the in-your-face sexuality that is shown in a lot of US and western movies/shows. They were asking question like "Is it really like that where you live?" Do women really look/act like that?" I was at a loss some days about how to answer these questions because in some cases yes that is exactly how people look/act in the US.

It didn't help that I am 1) female, 2) from California, and 3) much more endowed than an average female Smile (not quite Dolly-esque but at the time it was a near run thing). My older girls would ask me questions about what was it like to be "large"? Did boys like it? If boys liked it, then why wasn't I dating or married? Did boys stare at me and how did I deal with it? I did what was suggested and brushed the comments off and told the students that we didn't need to have this conversation and that they were not appropriate for the class.

Now mind you I never wore anything with a low neckline or clingy to work in an attempt to minimize my chest. I also had several adult classes at the time for conversation and TOEIC prep. I noticed towards the end of my contract that my classes became more and more predominately male, which became unnerving with some of them.

So I wonder.....it seems that the overwhelming response to the OP was that he screwed up, needs to check his responses before he says them and that he is probably going to get hit with some nasty backlash. Am I misreading the thread? I would like opinions on how a female teacher should handle the questions that I recieved and the stares etc of my adult students. I am coming back to Korea in a couple of months and while I have lost weight/measurements I still am fairly well-endowed and fully expect to face similar questions. Any suggestions how to field them?

Well, in case you're interested in the ongoing saga, the same girl got the same book today and opened it to another diagram of male genitalia and showed it to me. This time I just gave her The Look. You know, the sitdownanddontmakemetellyouagain look. She got serious and sat down.
