| EFL the only one convinced by this is you. Don't you think it funny that at least three people who side with your politics have taken special special care to distance themselves from you? |
Jesus.. distance themselves? Someone forgot to tell me when the club was formed.
Perfect example. How old *are* you?
Four pages and you STILL have not responded to the OP. And, yet, you think *I* am the one with a rhetoric problem? This is amazing. You asked me to define a term *irrelevant to the topic.* How is that honest rhetoric? It is not. Yet, you continue to claim it is I who is off? Why would I answer a non sequitur? By what logic of rules of rhetoric am I beholden to a non sequitur?
You, however, have a responsibility in joining a thread to address the topic. Nobody in the conversation has any responsibility to allow you to take the discussion off topic.
Explain yourself.
Oh, and you might try answering the question. |

McGarret on this thread:
EFLTrainer:
I've got a suggestion for you that's sure to add spice to your life. Why don't you team up with regicide and pay a visit to Dallas, Texas. First you can hold a vigil at Dealey Plaza in Dallas, or maybe a seance. Then you can catch a Metro bus for the campus of SMU and stage a protest while the faculty Senate is mulling over GW Bush's planned presidential library. Maybe invited Cindy Sheehan to come on up from Crawford for the occasion. Then you can top off your trip with a visit to Irving to hang a banner on the stadium where the Cowboys play.
Just a thought...
Indignation is one thing; ranting another. This excerpt is laden with hyperbole that borders on ranting. He almost sounds like a grumpy old man who's inhaled too much paint thinner while working in the woodshed.
EFLTrainer sputtered:
Ah, yes, there you go again with the simple S-V-O sentences spat out like watermelon seeds.
|
Anyone care to tell me why this various insults are acceptable to you? Now, McIdiot did *almost* address the issue. He actually talked the qualities of the original excerpt. Now, he did so like a child, but at least he did. He backed up nothing that he said with any analysis except his statements that Iacocca simply engaged in rhetoric that was not valid. Did he explain why? No. Does he have a point? No. Iacocca did not use inflammatory language. He did not use insults except for "throw the bums out." Oh my God!!
Yet, McIdiot can spout the other crap above, such as spluttered, and it's OK? He's not called on it? But I am?
Explain yourselves. |

Iacocca hardly a Democrat loon... So what's the rant, stevie?

And he's no Democrat, although he's supported both Repubs and Democrats in the past:
| Quote: |
| Politically, Iacocca supported the successful Republican candidate George W. Bush in the 2000 presidential election. In the 2004 presidential election, however, he endorsed Bush's unsuccessful opponent, Democrat John Kerry[6]. Most recently, in Michigan's 2006 Gubernatorial race, Iacocca appeared in televised political ads endorsing Republican candidate Dick DeVos.[7] |
