The government ought to just fine Moore for breaking the law. The US ought to plea bargin this so no money is wasted on this case.

As for the Cuba embargo Castro maybe a bearded gangster but really it doesn't serve US interests any more. The US has a right to embargo Cuba but enforcing it is a waste of strategic and political capital. Now that Cuba has oil the embargo makes less sense than ever.

In that the US has failed to overthrow Castro - Castro won.

In that Castro failed for the most part to spread his revolution - except to Venezuela and Bolivia - the US can clam success.

But the game isn't worth playing any more.

Castro will be gone soon is it time for the US to prepare for it.

The US could probably even squeeze out some nominal concessions from Cuba in exchange for lifting the embargo.
