Did anyone see UFC 70 I think? Where Mirko "Cro Cop" got knocked out by some unknown. I never seen anyone get knocked out like that. His leg was all twisted when he was knocked out. It seemed like his whole leg was bent 180 degrees. It was so devastating. But later he was walking.

Right here, folks: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=153_1177313578 (not mind safe)

These guys at this level all have the skills to knock each other out. I think that Crocop is a bette fighter but he just got caught. If you look at the slow-motion reply, you'll see Crocop lower his left arm to block what he thought was a kick to his ribs. Big frickin' mistake and he paid dearly. Good for Gonzaga. The rematch will/should be good. This is what I was saying about Fedor. Fedor is unbeatable right now but he too could fall victim to something like this.

What do you mean rematch? Gonzaga is set to fight Randy Couture for the heavyweight championship. Randy predicted that Gonzaga would win and he did, and in fact he said it will be a tougher fight for him as he figures he would have matched up with Crocop better. You can bet that Randy won't take him lightly.

It's easy to say you predicted Gonzaga to win after the fact... I'm not impressed with Couture. Washed up. Beat a tall goofy b@stard in Sylvia to gain the title. But, as I keep saying, at ths level, they all have the ability to knock each other the cluck out. And, as I previously stated, Fedor would stomp Gonzaga and Couture into dirt.

After the fact? He was commentating and made the prediction BEFORE the fight started. He also picked Jackson over Lidell as well, PLUS correctly said Matt Sera would beat George St. Pierre, so that makes him 3/3 so far. Sure he's old but his match with Sylva to win the heavyweight title was utterly amazing!

And I dont think its fair to say Gonazaga was lucky, he dominated the fight totally up to the knockout point. And check out his earlier fights if you can, he hasn't come out of nowhere. Cro Cop is over rated and I dont think he'll ever be back up to his same level.

I also like Randy of a personal level the most of all the fighters, but I really dont think he could come close to taking Fedor. Even Gonzaga will be tough, I think he could lose, though I want him to win.

Did you end up seeing K-1/EliteXC Dynamite!! USA this weekend? Now that card was a joke.

I just caught the show today June 6, 2007. The card may have been a joke, but it was a better show than UFC71. I actually enjoyed some of the fights.

Preliminary Card

J.Z. Calvan def. Nam Phan via TKO of round 1.
(Too bad for the early stoppage because I was looking forward to seeing Phan's skills.)

Jonathan Wiezorek def. Tim Persey via TKO of round 2.
(Two slobs lacking skills locked in the clinch. Boring!)

Jake Shields def. Ido Pariente via submission (rear naked choke) of round 2.
(Ido was out classed in this match, but that happens sometimes.)

Pay-Per-View

Bernard Ackah def. Johnnie Morton via KO at 0:38 of round 1
(Fun fight to watch! Morton tries the bum rush NFL take down, Ackah defends, Morton takes a long nap. Niceahh!)

Mighty Mo def. Ruben Villareal via TKO (strikes) of round 2
(No comment)

Dong Sik Yoon def. Melvin Manhoef via submission (armbar) of round 2.
(Nice to see Yoon get a win after 4 losses in a row. Fun fight to watch.)

Hideo Tokoro def. Brad Pickett via submission (armbar) of round 1.
Royce Gracie def. Kazushi Sakuraba via unanimous decision
Brock Lesnar def. Kim Min-Soo via submission (strikes) of round 1.

You know there is a way to block your body and head at the same time. I learned this move from a guy I used to spar with. He was 3rd degree black belt and been in lot of competitions. It's where you cross your arms to block your body and your opposite arm is blocking your head at the same time. It's also a easy way to throw a back fist.

He wasn't dominating the fight. It was 1 lucky kick. He seems strong but he is all stiff. Cro-cop in the other hand is so quick with his strikings and never get tied up by a fighter. He beat so many great fighters. That kick though was so vicious. I got grossed out after I saw it.

Dude you are joking right.. none of the fights were even a little bit competitive. It was sad.

Funny how it's always a "lucky kick" or a "lucky punch" when it's your fav fighter getting beaten. Liddell fans were saying "lucky punch" all over the net when Rampage beat Chuck, conveniently ignoring the fact that it was the second time Rampage had beaten him. Were they lucky slams and lucky elbows to the body that finished Chuck off the first time?

Gonzaga stalked Cro Cop who constantly backed up and never threw an offensive strike that connected. Then Gonzaga got the take down and half gaurd mount, that's a dominant position. Then he put in some heavy elbows to the head and a couple of punches. That's also dominance. Then he kicked his head off. I have no idea how anyone could analyze that as anything other than Gonazaga dominating the fight.

CHALLENGE

If you were Randy or Gonzaga's coach, how would you get your fighter ready for the fight?

Choose three sparring partners for him. Also, explain what you you want to see him do in the ring on fight day to win the bout?

I think Randy has to keep it standing and try and out smart him boxing wise. I think if he ends up on his back with a big and very technical juijitsu guy like Gonzaga, he is gone. He will struggle to get a big guy like Gonzaga down, and even if he does, Gonzaga is a truly world class BJJ player so i think he can defend well off his back. Randy needs some big strong wrestlers to practice his takedown defence, and a good heavyweight sub guy like Jeff Monson.

Gonzaga has to use his superior size to get Randy on the ground and pound him out for the tko or go for the sub.
