Trolling is an artform. Nothing is worse than a troll who has not fully developed their potential. The secret to effective trolling is to bait the hook well as to ensure a better catch. It's also important not to give away the game too soon. That will only deminish a great potential catch.
Nothing is greater than seeing an effective troll in action. The joy of long hours wasted at a computer. The read faced and fist beatings of the all the people who realize they've just spent four hours in front of a computer just to delight the troll.
My personal favorite is John Gobin Smith. He also goes by numerous other nicks. If you haven't come across this freak of nature than you really don't know what its like to waste a complete afternoon talking absolute drivel and bollocks |
I often wonder how these people disguise their writing when assuming different personas. Do they run all their "Jekyll" posts through a spell-checker but not bother when writing as "Hyde"? Or do they deliberately edit mistakes into Hyde's work just to confuse people? |
A well seasoned troll can dominate a discussion forum without resorting to mulnicking. |

Mulniking means to login into a forum under multiple user names. The obvious benifit is to fabricate several different characters. Who have opposing beliefs and ideas. In doing this the troll adds fire to the discusion |

What if the different personalities are just sort of bland and don't argue with each other online? Is it still mulnicking, or are we dealing with Sybil? |

It depends on the troll. Some trolls have a genuine talent. The talent is measured in time. Particulary time wasted by other people
A good troll can draw you into a dialogue without you realize that you are being trolled. Four houres later you realize the days gone and you have achevied nothing. That is when you realize you've been trolled |
