What I was trying to say is that the Current Events Forum is resembling in some cases a children's playground where people are saying "He started it" and there is all this finger pointing and mud slinging unbecoming of mature gentlemen and gentlewomen. I am not perfect, but I say let's stop acting like big kids on here... The posts with the recipes was a bit over the top and a post about some Canadian soldiers torturing just and adding "See, Canadians, do it, too!". Come on, guys, let's take this to a more adult level. I am sure we all can act juvenile, but let's not.

That's what I meant..

Yeah? Well what about people saying "Americans do it more?"

While I understand Steve's desire to get back at all those self-righteous Canadians, the comparison was ridiculous. Canada does not, as a rule of thumb, torture it's prisoners.

Yes, yes, we have to be careful with how we define toture, but I guarantee you if any Canadian regiment was found to be water boarding it's prisoners in Afghanistan, that would be the end of their mission.

Secondly, I believe the article clearly states that the prisoners were given assurances by the Canadians that they would be treated well, and that the torture in question was perpetrated by Afghan authorities.

I don't have anything against steve but it was obvious this post was done just to stir up american/canadian vitriol rather than post any legitimate concern.
