| Your admission about being at a disadvantage is the strongest argument of all against changing the system. Setting out on a Sunday drive with no destination in mind is all well and good, but it just isn't wise to run a country that way. |
My disadvantage is that the Constitution was chosen over the Articles of Confederation. You're now poo-pooing the AoC as setting off on a Sunday drive with no destination. Was setting off on the Constitutional path somehow different? You taught government but are making these arguments?
And it's a nice stroy about the "heartland"you provide about coffee in the morning. I don't doubt any of what you say about political discussions at cafes, BUT YOu'RE LINKING AMENDING THE CONSTITUTION WITH THESE DISCUSSIONS.
Come on. You taught government. You're saying we need to amend the constitution otherwise these clorful people you describe won't have a discussion about EC reform?
No. You're just creating problems that don't exist.
Even if there were an amendment, it wouldn't be determined by the people in your small d fairytale.
IOW, amending the Constitution isn't necessary. I have yet to see a compelling reason for it to be necessary.
But again, you're only throwing the constitution in the way of changes you don't like.
I'd phrase that as a question, but I don't think I need to. |
