Teaching in Korea is a job that can be approached in a professional manner or in a slacker manner. With either approach you can please or annoy your boss. It seems to mostly depend on what you feel you need to put into the job and what you plan to do next. If English teaching is your career, you will probably take a more professional attitude towards your teaching -- which may or may not be appreciated. But if you are taking a year or decade off from some other field, you may be more of a slacker, which could work out or not work out for you, too. I think a lot of the foreigner conflicts come from people from these two different camps who have to work together.
