No, I was being serious. I don't know how much older you are, but if that's a high school or even college list FROM the 1980's that's impressive. My only truly cool music notes is that I was the first of my friends to find both Radiohead and the Pixies.

oh word. i just detected a hint of that dave's sarcasm.

my dad actually introduced me to harder music via the CBC, and i eventually becamed rather obsessed with it, by watching public access cable late on saturday nights. seeing the ramones on TV at age 10 was a formative experience.

New Order was pretty good in concert, too. Saw them at a small club in 1986 from memory - in Auckland, NZ.
The singer wore shorts.

pretending to like new order and the cure got me a lot of tail in high school.
