I know a couple of the guys i went to orientation with they shoot in Busan. From the sounds of it to shoot handguns down there it is freakin expensive I think they said 40,000 for 15 shots or 10 shots something ridiculous like that. Maybe in Seoul it is much cheaper.

| I've heard there is a range at Lotte in Jamshil, Seoul, but you have to pay extremely high prices, as mentioned above. The prices were so insane, I lost all interest in even bothering. They can stuff it. |

Its been a couple years since I shot a gun. I think spending 100,000w for a couple clips is worth it, considering the alternative of blowing that 100,000w at the Casino. |

Yeah i noticed the signs for the range at Lotte world there in Jamsil. I saw them on the way out of the building. To bad I hadn't seen them when we went in but then again I was on a field trip with all the kiddos.

I knew one teacher last year who was trying to get his guns over to Korea for pheasant hunting and said he'd have to store them at the police station. He's permanently living in Korea with a wife and kid so he wants to get all his stuff over here. He still didn't have his hugs in Korea 6 months later so it's probably doubtful he actually did it.
Anyone get a gun into Korea or buy one here? Do they have pheasant hunting grounds? |

The grapevine says that they have pheasant hunting down on Jeju island. If you look in one of the tourist guide books, it actually states it in there.

All I own back home is a Mossburg .22LR. Fun rifle to shoot.
If I lived elsewhere I'd like to own:
1917 S&W .45ACP revolver.
Ruger Redhawk .45 Colt
Something from SIG in .45ACP
in that order. |

Good list. My father had a 1917 S & W. It shot really well. Not too hard to control and well made. It did have rubber Pachmayr grips and not the original stocks, so that would have helped a bit. I was very close to buying a SIG P220 and agonized in the shop between it and the H & K USP. The H & K won out on feel as much as anything and it's the best I've ever shot. You wouldn't go wrong with the SIG though. My SigPro .40 is excellent also. |

Try a 20 lb propane tank with a .30.30!  We'd take a 20 lb propane tank and set it a few feet from a campfire, walk off about 50 yards and put a round into the side near the fire. Nice loud whoosh and a ball of fire. Of course, this is quite dangerous and we did it on a frozen lake in the middle of winter so as not to cause TOO much trouble.
On the general topic, I have a Walther P22, a Ruger 10/22, a Remington 870 Express Magnum 12 Gauge, a Rock Island Armory 1911 .45, a Winchester Model 94 .30/30, a Romanian AK-47 and my personal favorite, a Smith and Wesson Model 28 Highway Patrolman .357 Magnum.
I had a S/W Centennial that I used to carry concealed with .38 wad cutters. I have smaller hands and have always found the J frames and the "Lady Smiths" to fit really comfortably.
Lots of posts mention Glocks. Personally, I have never been a huge fan of Glocks. They are fantastic weapons and their reliability is second to none, but I've always found them awkward to aim naturally. If you like the Glock, I'd recommend trying the Springfield XD's. They are just as reliable (so far) as the Glocks but they point quite a bit more naturally, which for point and click shooting is quite an advantage. |

I agree with you about glocks (yes i own one) I am not a big fan of them. I prefer my Sig. Plus we carried sigs while on duty. I know some of the people don't like standing to my right on a firing line since they tend to get peppered with hot shell casings. I rather them get peppered than me like a glock does.
I am still debating on listing all of my firearms or not on here it might take a while.

I have looked at getting a saiga. I really like their 12 gauges. And maybe a .308 since I already have a .223. But the question is are we going to be able to purchase these sort of weapons before we are able to make it back to the states. Are the DO-ME-crats gonna start gun banning again.
