| Can gays provide a better household than a traditional mother and father? Do pray tell. |
Only traditional mothers and fathers are getting married these days? I've met plenty of gay people who'd make better parents than many of the 'traditional' parents I've met. Please define 'traditional' so California can extend the ban to 90% of the population. |
It was an encompassing statement. Men and women will make better rearers of children. |
Oh, sorry. You had the answer all along. Silly me not noticing you had all the facts at hand.
Should marriage be based on child rearing ability? |
Should marriage be based solely on love? If so then I could get a cool tax break by marrying my cat. |

All things I will happily do on your grave Jerry. |
hahah i read that bit about foreign cars and was just like wtf , someone shoot this idiot and save his family the trouble |
I'm not sure what shooting a corpse would acomplish. The guy has been dead for over a year.
So while dancing may lead to excercising civil liberties and making smart consumer choices, it seems that being an obese hate mongerer leads to cardiac arrest. You picked your battles well Jerry. |

The point is that many heterosexual couples make lousy parents and some are even incapable of or too old to be having children naturally. Yet they are afforded the right to marry. Could you back up the statement 'Men and women will make better rearers of children'? Even if heterosexual couples do make better parents, does this mean homosexual couples make bad parents?
Maybe they should extend the ban to criminals, the disabled, fatties, poor people and those with a poor education. Since rich fit well educated law abiding citizens make better parents.
Marriage can be based on many things, not solely love or child rearing. So long as you are both neutered I have no problem with you entering a marriage with your cat. |

This isn't about love, child rearing etc...
A few years ago a poll (don't ask me for a link, I have too many other things to do - find it if you're interested). was taken am among parents either expecting or parents of young children. The poll sought to establish what the greatest fears of these parents would be for their children. The number 1 item? That their children would turn out gay or lesbian. That doesn't seem to me that people are really accepting of homosexuality as we are led to believe. Of course before the big vote in CA, according to prevailing intelligence, people who opposed gay marriage were an isolated minority. Now we are in the majority and exercising "tyranny over the enlightened minority who is here to save us from our ignorance.
Marriage has been weakend over the last half of the century with the rise in divorces, the ease at which a divorce can be obtained, as well as many other factors influencing our cultures. I believe that marriage and the basic family unit is a barometer for the overall health of our culture and I firmly hold that by debasing it, such as allowing people to "marry" who are not genetically predisposed to creating offspring and whose lifestyle is a perversion of natural affection of normal adults cannot do anything godd for our society. Marriage between a man and a woman is a norm that is established in our culture as well as many others throughout the world not unlike the wearing of appropriate clothing. If all of a sudden we began throwing out these norms without examining the consequences we are technically gambling with someone elses money or in this case - their cultural viability. And who will be responsible if the effects on our societies are less than amiable? Certainly not you or your friend Omkura eh? |

I tried to do your homework for you but all I could get were links to parents having more fear over Grand Theft Auto than drink and sex.
Another poll has people less trusting of atheists than Muslims. Maybe I should be added to the ban.

So why not ban the other elements of society I mentioned?
And gay people can't genetically have children? Of course they can, just not with each other. Plenty of heterosexual couples out there bringing up children not of their own blood too. You can see many cultures in the world today based around marriage and family that are not healthy. Society I guess has many barometers.
I suggest that no one should be able to get married with out a criminal background check, medical check incl drug test and university transcripts.

Yes, civil rights are a threat to society. Thanks for demonstrating in detail what this threats are without resorting to paranoia or sounding bonkers. |
