No, you didn't hit a nerve at all because I don't know how many more posts I have to put up stating that the British aren't paticulary good looking, they are not paticulary ugly either. They are just normal, average looking people of average height and build. They aren't like the Russians or the Swedes or the Spanish.
I take umbrage that someone like you thinks they can generalize about a people who number 70 million and include most races, call them all ugly when you are no great shakes yourself.
I didn't make a personal attack on your looks - I said you looked average and unspectacular. That isn't an insult - an insult based on your looks would be something like 'you have a face like a pigs unshaved arsehole' You may be insulted because you think you are handsome but you aren't. On the other hand, you are not ugly either -
You are just a normal looking lad - you aren't Brad Pitt and thats the problem - average people thinking that they are something that they are not.
I am just a typical Brit of Celtic-Anglo ancestry with a Chinese great grandmother. I look OK and I can scrub up well, I am tall, strong and have my own hair and teeth - that'll do.
Am I better looking than you - maybe - depends who's asking. 
All I am saying is that the British get things done instead of looking in a mirror - inventions, writing, singing, getting things done - thats the British and it doesn't involve gawping in a mirror all day long - we will leave that to the Czechs and the Greeks and the other nationalities who think they look great - a bunch of poodles - nice to look at but don't expect them to guard your house or guide your blind auntie across the road!  |

| having seen misher's picture, I am comfortable enough in my heterosexuality to say he's a pretty handsome guy, and certainly above average, which would make him quite the good looking lad in Britain. |

Generalizing? Excuse me? I know many Europeans from these nationalities that would take just as much "umbrage" if not more, from the doozies that you just unleashed above. I make a comment about overall physical appearance and that isn't ok. Yet you can go off about other European nations and their narcissism, lack of creativity, motivation and courage. Double standard much?

Woah now. I'm well aware I'm no prize pig and I'm perfectly comfortable with that. You make too many assumptions.
My original observation still stands. I don't care how average looking I am. People hack north americans for being fat and ugly all the time and I couldn't really care. I can't help it if you get your knickers in a twist.

I apologize because I should have clarified what I meant. The nice looking British individuals I encountered were predominantly of mixed heritage. I'm mainly talking about that locals that have been there for centuries before they allowed immigration from the colonies.
In the end we are just talking about physical appearance here. Personality can make an individual much more attractive. Maybe that is how the British make up for it? |

From my perspective on it, that you should not realise he was both aware and making counter satire at the same time, he may well be dissapointed in you.
I dunno though, that would be for him to say I guess, I can't read his / her mind. |

I don't know.
I was bought up to believe I was the eldest son (non twin) with two younger sibllings.
If you can pm me a pic of him / her, I will be able to tell if I have a twin floating around and will need to have an awkward telephone call to my parents!
Anyway, one of my friend's yingwenlaoshi told me DWAEJI was banned for violating the tos, by criticising the moderators of this site for allowing homophobia.

Some of the hottest women I've met were from the UK.
They were tall, thin, nice hoo-hoos and an ass that wouldn't quit.
Also, they were the freakiest I've ever encountered in bed- boy!

Well if you all think British women are ugly, stay wherever you are and I'll carry on with them thanks.
This topic does occasionally come up at my school and the general opinion is theyre pretty good. The girls I work with are certainly not ugly, the majority of girls I am friends with are certainly not ugly.
And if that is a reason for you never to come here, brilliant. Obviously if you do come here it is wise to keep your opinions about it to yourself. |

| I did two months of travelling in Europe this past spring, and I have to take a stand and stick up the UK - sure the guys (and girls) in Denmark and Amsterdam were ridiculously hot - the Paris subway had more good looking guys then I would see in a year in Eastern Canada, but the guys in LONDON were the hottest by far - I could stand at the tube station around 9am and just watch the suits for hours. Why were they so hot? the DIVERSITY people - something for everyone's taste! Manly, pretty, white, brown, black, yellow - it was awesome. And knowing that most of them had that accent made them even hotter. |

that diversity is a normal daily occurrence in every major US city, so it had to be the accent (or merely being stuck among Canadian hosers on the Eastern seaboard)
the so called posh/BBC/London accent certainly sounds attractive to American ears. |

Sometimes it is nice to see someone with a bit of character in their face too. Who looks like theyve actually lived and gone through something, rather than just sat at home dying their hair, putting on make-up and trying to work out how they can make themselves look like Paris bastard Hilton. Im talking all nationalities here though.
The accent does seem to work well, cos it is soft. Not trying to be offensive here but sometimes talking to an American is like being hit in the head with a sledgehammer |

as long as there is an actual personality behind the "face with personality" it is fine... Also, just because a woman dyes her hair and works out (I find it idiotic to judge someone for wanting to be fit and healthy) doesn't mean she is a bimbo.
At least she won't be haggard by 30 from chain-smoking her life away eating eggs, sausage, chips and beans everyday.... mmm that does sound good and I'm gonna watch Pink Floyd live at Pompeii right now!!! |
