The height of McCartney's song-writing talent can be summed up with:
Someone's knockin' at the door
Somebody's ringin' the bell
Someone's knockin' at the door
Somebody's ringin' the bell
Do me a favor,
Open the door and let 'em in
Musical genius, that. |
But where would music be now without 'Wings'!!!??

"Inside Out" by Eve 6 is such a horrible song. A lyric sample:
Want to put my tender
Heart in a blender
Watch it spin around to a beautiful oblivion
Rendez-vous now I'm through with you
It's something that Steve Allen would recite. |

| Shining Star by Earth Wind and Fire. I used to know a guy who loved that song. He was the biggest Jack Ass I ever knew. Not that all people who like Earth Wind and Fire are Jack Asses though. |

For some reason, this made me lose it a little bit. I never realized that that song was lame, but now I can totally see it!
Uh, what other songs are lame?
Alanis Morrissette- And I Would Be Good
Natalie Imbruglia- Torn
Plain White T's: Hey there Delilah
Holly Jolly Christmas (I used to like it, though)
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
Muppet Show song |

| Anything by Celine Dion. Actually, just a few seconds of her makes me feel like a horse stampeding through a fence toward a wide open sky - never to look back - after a terrible, constraining hardship. |

Wow, early Chicago rocks. It's kind of like when I tell people I'm in to Genesis. They give me a weird look, and I have to explain to them that I'm talking early '70s Genesis. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is an amazing album.
Another good example is Def Leppard. Their first two CDs are good, after that . . . well, not so good. |

This is quite similar to my experience with early Foreigner.
As a kid I really enjoyed Foreigner - Cold as Ice, Hot Blooded, Double Vision, Blue Morning, Dirty White Boy, even Juke Box Hero.
But then they released Agent Provocateur in 84.
The first time I heard the song, I want to know what love is, I was like.wtf?
I felt so betrayed. |

I just heard "Dreamweaver", and I'm pissed off about it (too lazy to walk over to the stereo).
I have a special reason to despise that song (besides the fact that it sucks in general). I had a loser of a roommate in high school who decided he would drag his brush through his ridiculous mop while he blared this garbage in our room non-stop.
That lasted for about an hour before I threatened his life. From then on out he would carry a boombox around campus playing the song over and over.
I'm sure somebody's probably killed him by now. |

Great Thread!
Another one I absolutely despise is Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham.
One of the absolutely worst songs ever made. |

"Either of those two extremely overplayed, super lame Sublime songs... Walking On Sunshine... any Black Eyed Peas."
-Completely agree.... Sublime were a bunch of Jamaican/ cholo wannabe whitebread douchebags and I think that you need a vagina and a lobotomy to like the Black Eyed Peas.
-Any hipster crap.
-Any Lilith Fair crap.
-"Tik Tok" by Kesha, that skank.
-Anything by Beyonce with her fat-ass California redwood thighs and her hair hat that she wears on her bald head.
-Any R&B, period for that matter.
-Little Wayne's attempt at a rock album- go drink some more cough syrup and see what else you can come up with, douchebag.
-Anything by Lady Gaga, that transvestite.
-Anything by Chipmunk Cheeks, AKA Kanye West AKA Sugar-Nuts
The music industry needs a big purge right about now. |

Jesus, that just came on the radio and now it's followed by Against the Wind by Bob Seger.
Excuse me while I kill myself (for some unknown reason I'm dealing with the lamest classic rock station ever devised by Satan). |
