Yes, and for Italian, and Chinese, and Indian, and sushi, and pizza, and on and on and on....

New Yorkers are always bragging how everything is better up there. Well, when they are talking about food, they ain't lying!

We brag, but there is a lot of truth in it. It's the culinary capital of the world because there are so many cultures represented in the one city, due to its having been the entrance to the states for so long.

Isn't that what I just said? I am married to a New Yorker- I know how great the food is!

New Yorkers can't brag about their coffee though it seems. Now I know why I can't get a decent brew in Korea, they have modeled it on American style.

I still say Mexican food in New York sucks.

Also, I guess it's still a "cocktail town," because they have very few good microbrews. Brooklyn Brewery was the only half-decent one I can recall.

So yeah, they have the "best of" a lot of ethnic foods, but you can't win them all.

Interesting link and I learned something new. I have had a "flat white", not knowing that is what it is called. This video shows how to make it:

They can't get good southern barbecue up there either, at least that is what they tell me when they come down to Florida.

I bet they make a pretty good Manhattan though. Cool

There are a few latino restaurants that are fantastic, but they're not the posh ones that are advertised.

As for coffee, it's a crapshot, as in many places. I prefer tea, myself, as it's fairly foolproof.
