I also think certain Korean women are far superior to handling teenage boys (including disciplining them, even whacking them) than most Korean males. They have that amazing combo of tenderness and toughness that they can switch in and out of when necessary. |
I got to disagree with you on that. My female teachers are "Weak". They're very permissive because the kid's had crap lives. What they don't seem to understand, regardless even abused kids who are justifiably pissed at life still need to understand there are boundaries.

not in mine. There are some female teachers that can't control my unruly boys and others who are just outstanding. I almost get wood when I see how some of these females handle our little delinquents.
One of my coteachers is one of the very good ones, But I've noticed she was very lax with a class today, and with her, I almost always let her do crowd control. When I asked her about the class later, she said .. what did you expect from a group of "troublemakers".
I forgot about this class, I lose track of them sometimes.
One kid spit on my classroom floor which always drives me apeshit, so he had run and get a mop and clean his phlegm off my classroom floor.
they also like to put their legs on other chairs in my E-zone, which I don't mind so long as they take off their sandals. Of course some are too cool to do that, so they put dust/dirt stains on the chair. I come by, grab their hand and have use their hand as a cleaner/wiper.
I think one kid I did this with was talking some smack about me later during class, I chose to ignore it. Now, seeing that my usually great coteacher doesn't have the energy or willpower to deal with these idiots (or has given up, figuring it's not worth it).. I am going to deal with these clowns myself next week.
They won't think they're so "cool" next week, I can guarantee you, though if I could speak fluent Korean I'd have them crapping in their pants. |

btw, when is oldfatfarang going to realize no one here is falling for his Socratic trick of extending his logic to reductio ad absurdum by constantly using sadistic beatings as the example, rather than formulated, measured and non sadistic "punishments".
if he sees sadistic beatings in his schools, so be it. I haven't seen them in mine and can only go on my own experience. |
